Thats absolutely incredible. Heart breaking for the Saffas but what a fupping comeback. Congrats to all our resident Kiwis. Unbelievable stuff from your team.

Man I thought we would lose there. That is some comeback.

The Irish quarter final options are looking more and more like a rock and a hard place, SA are really on the up.

Think Mo’unga at 10 and Barrett at 15 might be the way forward.

    Ok Leinster vs Munster next.

The cheap shot in the ruck

Seriously??? A yellow for that? Are you joking?

Great match. Really enjoyed it. Good to see the Boks are back.

If Ireland get to the semis of the RWC next year they will have seriously earned it

    A deliberate act...yes indeed...he was a lucky little boy

Dreadful ABs performance, played like drains but nothing better than beating the Boks in their lair. :D

Hard to see the NZ dominance of rugby fading any time soon but fair play to the Boks for making it interesting.

Good start, could be a good game.

Terrible amount of advertisements on that pitch.

Haha. Good to see that you're consistent. No matter the match, you'll whinge about the ref.

Any way, this Australia v Argentina match is a good one. Wallabies getting hammered in the first half and have now fraught back to take the lead. I think it's the ref's fault

Wallabies win high scoring game 45-34 with second half comeback. Looking at highlights on Youtube (5 minute version shows all tries) and tackling seems an option from highlights reel. BTW Foley kicked 6 conversions. Why Australia dropped him in first place baffles me for he is by far their most consistent performer.

Back from the dead and a great result after a poor first-half performance. :D

Sam Cane fractured his neck in the SA game yesterday

Apparently he hasn't suffered nerve damage, which is fortunate

BB on fire with his kicking. Great try as well.

Yellow card for a push to the face. Rugby has gone pathetic.

    Yellow card...really!

    Ridiculous yellow card.

Nice to see Beauden taking notes from Sexton.

Missed the game, what was the card for? See Heaslip echoing the sentiment here.

A bit of context, NZ had just won a scrum penalty and as the front rows were getting up Latu pushed Harris so that is what sparked the series of pushes. It probably is a soft yellow but Latu was stupid to react the way he did.

He shoved the bloke in the face. Idiotic in the extreme and he can have no complaints.

I mean, it's a strike to the face.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,920 ✭✭✭✭stephen_n

I’d agree that the kiwi should have walked too in that instance, but retaliation has always been viewed more harshly for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,641 ✭✭✭Dog Botherer

It's open handed yeah, but it's to the face and it's retaliation, and mostly, it's very clear and obvious. Very silly from Latu but a yellow probably fair. If the hand had been closed it would have been a straight red.

Loving reading the reaction to the match from the Aussie's. Some serious whinging going on.

Their biggest grievance seems to be about the yellow card, not because it is a harsh yellow, but because Taylor started it.

I watched the incident back, and Taylor actually gets a slap in the face straight after the scrum, which is why he goes and pushes the Aussie, getting another hand to the face. It does beg the question, should Taylor have been carded because he was initially retaliating? What's the punishment for retaliating to retaliation?

It doesn't really matter in this case about who was retaliating - it was the fact one of the pushes was to the face that was the problem.
