Trump on the possibility of the Crown Prince knowing that Khashoggi was going to be butchered..."maybe he did, maybe he didn't".
Then went on to talk about how the relationship is with Saudi Arabia, and how important it is.

Europe really needs to abandon the Saudis and work with the Iranians.
Trump and the US have got this very very wrong. It is condoning murder.

Details of the domestic assault charges and restraining order against Avenatti have emerged. He's been trying to use similar tactics to Trump by conspiratorially linking the incident to Jacob Wohl, now he's saying security cam footage exists and it will clear him. Not many outlets reported on the details after they came out last night, total blackout by CNN and MSNBC. Her statement and pictures of alleged injuries in the report.

    https://theblast.com/michael-avenatti-mariel-miniutti-restraining-order-details/

"Avenatti then allegedly grabbed her by the arm and dragged her out of bed, on the floor and through the apartment and out the front door into the hallway. Miniutti claims she was injured while being dragged, and provided pictures of her alleged injuries in her court filing."

Trump supporters on Reddit just keep talking about Seth Rich.

Some very inaccurate things being reported about that case. I'd say many are staying well clear of it because it's a given you'd be sued if you reported something incorrect.

There's also some conspiracy theories over the victims alleged injuries as apparently witnessed by the police on arrival yet absent in a video she posted a few hours later.

The statement and images she provided to police don't detail injuries to her face, only to her legs and back from allegedly being dragged. TMZ will likely be in legal trouble over their initial posting ( wife / facial injuries ) which gives fuel in a misdirection sort of way to his defense.

The Hill reported on the story yesterday, the details about her statement and injuries only emerged in the last hour. Avenatti went on the same lefty blog you linked today and is claiming he has security cam footage which will exonerate him, however it's hard to believe him given he lied about having NBC footage of Trump using racist words in the past. They are due in court next month so we'll see what happens.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/news/417547-actress-mareli-miniutti-files-restraining-order-against-michael-avenatti

"The actress Mareli Miniutti is seeking a restraining order against Michael Avenatti, the attorney who was arrested last week on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

Miniutti filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking the restraining order. The legal action was first reported by entertainment news site The Blast. The outlet reported Miniutti also made the domestic violence report against Avenatti. Her involvement was previously unknown."

You see the way Avenatti is looking forward to a full investigation?

That's what a man who believes he is innocent should do.

Note the difference between him and Kavanaugh?

Ignoring the fact that Avenatti brought an unstable Woman into the public fray citing allegations of organized gang rape, claims which have now been criminally referred to the DOJ for purposely misleading senate investigators, your whataboutery and spin is laughable. Avenatti brought the claims against Kavanaugh, not the other way around, and did it in such an attack minded manner that the presumption of innocence that he now craves was denied to Kavanaugh through a vicious media campaign of nonsensical allegations and smears.

I don't say Avenatti is innocent or guilty only posting what little information is available, we will see the outcome next month, take note.

The basis for the never-ending pursuit of HRC's e-mails was that she may have compromised national security by use of a personal account. Ivanka, it now transpires, was discussing both government and personal affairs on a separate non-governmental e-mail account. Congressional enquiry? Lock her up?

You know the point I was making.

Anyway - let the cards fall where they may.

If Avenatti is guilty, he should face the consequences.

Pity Kavanaugh didn't have the courage in the justice system to agree that he should be fully investigated.

Clinton used a private email server set up in her own home totally seperate from the Government system with little or no security, deleted public records and destroyed personal devices with hammers ( literally ), send and received over a 1000 classified emails, some of which were top secret, that contained access to the use of special access programs, failed to disclose multiple foreign donations to her charity while serving as secretary of state despite signing a waiver stating should do the opposite and lied in public statements about it dozens of times. Nobody would have cared if she had a private account and used it to discuss government business or scheduling or whatever it might be, it's WHY she used it, because there's plenty of evidence to suggest that she did it to hide how her charity was being used as a money funnel accepting donations from political dignitaries for political favours. That's called pay for play, or essentially, bribes.

If Ivanka and Jared Trump are doing similar things, like masking donations for political favour or emailing classified information I say LOCK THEM UP!! too. If like what's been reported about scheduling and general government business is true, then a huge meh, you cannot equate the two at all like those on the left are trying to do. Either way, investigate it, corruption must be called out on all sides and it would be hypocritical to say otherwise.

If all true, why, after countless investigations, did a republican house and senate not "lock her up"?

So Trump gives the Crown Prince and SA a free pass on the killing of Kamal Khashoggi. doesn't challenge the SA line that Khashoggi was' an enemy of the state' but actually repeats it. It just gets worse. USA's international integrity in tatters.

Last I'll say on this, because it's a two tier justice system. During the FBI email investigation, you might remember acting AG Loretta Lynch met with her husband William in the back of a plane a few days before a ruling was to be made. Meanwhile on the FBI side these were the people who were investigating her. Strzok, Page, McCabe have all been demoted or removed and inspector general Horrowitz has says in his report he cannot say that people like Strzok, who was leading both the Russia and Clinton investigations, did not act without bias. The findings in the final report were changed from grossly negligent to extremely careless.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/363194-former-fbi-agent-changed-comeys-language-of-clinton-email-use-to

"The former FBI official, who was recently fired from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia team over messages critical of President Trump, reportedly edited a key phrase that removed possible legal implications in former FBI Director James Comey's statement about his decision on the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Peter Strzok, who served as a counterintelligence expert at the bureau, changed the description of Clinton's actions in Comey's statement, CNN reported Monday, citing U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
One source told the news outlet that electronic records reveal that Strzok changed the language from "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless," scrubbing a key word that could have had legal ramifications for Clinton. An individual who mishandled classified material could be prosecuted under federal law for "gross negligence."

Trump has controlled the Justice Department for near two years.

Hamstrung by Sessions recusal and the development of the Russia investigation. It wasn't Trumps intention to go after Clinton after he won the presidency which he made clear in his first 60 minutes interview.

Republican house committee have subpoenaed Comey and Lynch into their Russian/Clinton inquiries which is a waste of time, as nothing ever happens and they are essentially powerless.

Yet you keep bringing up this case in the Donald Trump POTUS thread? For what reason? Avenatti isn't even a politician, so, as per Trump supporters, anything he does prior to becoming a politician is pretty much ok.

But why do you keep bringing this totally unconnected case up in this thread? It has zero, nothing, nada, zilch to do with Trump, with the US POTUS, with politics, with the GOP, even with the DNC?

Are you going to report on every potential domestic violence case in the US now? What point are you trying to make with this? That Avenatti is a scumbag? If he did it then yeah, that would be true. But what has got to do with Trump or US politics?

So he lied during the campaign? This is the man that 'tells it like it is?"

You also mention Bill meeting with Acting AG prior to the election. You do know that Trump had off record meetings with Comey, where Comey has claimed Trump demanded personal loyalty and that he give Flynn a pass, and recently had off record meetings with Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein. This whilst an active investigation into himself is ongoing?

And has recently fired the AG and brought in an AG based on nothing else but he felt that Sessions shouldn't have recused himself.

How can you honestly put out your points with a straight face?

Reading what he said about Saudi Arabia is kind of unbelievable. Saying that he has no issues with an ally assassinating/executing/butchering a journalist, because they pay him a lot of money. What sort of leader actually says something like that? Even for him...that's absolute madness.

It shows a serious weakness on his part. No country would allow the killing of a resident without at least protesting. The most powerful nation in the world would be expected to go even further than protestations. I guess we'll just have to wait for Turkey's next move.

For the record here's his take on his relationship with the Saudis. How is this man President?

Any Trump supporters want to have a go at commenting on it?

Statement from President Donald J. Trump on Standing with Saudi Arabia
    FOREIGN POLICY

    Issued on: November 20, 2018

    menuALL NEWS
    America First!

The world is a very dangerous place!

The country of Iran, as an example, is responsible for a bloody proxy war against Saudi Arabia in Yemen, trying to destabilize Iraq’s fragile attempt at democracy, supporting the terror group Hezbollah in Lebanon, propping up dictator Bashar Assad in Syria (who has killed millions of his own citizens), and much more. Likewise, the Iranians have killed many Americans and other innocent people throughout the Middle East. Iran states openly, and with great force, “Death to America!” and “Death to Israel!” Iran is considered “the world’s leading sponsor of terror.”

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia would gladly withdraw from Yemen if the Iranians would agree to leave. They would immediately provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has agreed to spend billions of dollars in leading the fight against Radical Islamic Terrorism.

After my heavily negotiated trip to Saudi Arabia last year, the Kingdom agreed to spend and invest $450 billion in the United States. This is a record amount of money. It will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, tremendous economic development, and much additional wealth for the United States. Of the $450 billion, $110 billion will be spent on the purchase of military equipment from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and many other great U.S. defense contractors. If we foolishly cancel these contracts, Russia and China would be the enormous beneficiaries – and very happy to acquire all of this newfound business. It would be a wonderful gift to them directly from the United States!

The crime against Jamal Khashoggi was a terrible one, and one that our country does not condone. Indeed, we have taken strong action against those already known to have participated in the murder. After great independent research, we now know many details of this horrible crime. We have already sanctioned 17 Saudis known to have been involved in the murder of Mr. Khashoggi, and the disposal of his body.

Representatives of Saudi Arabia say that Jamal Khashoggi was an “enemy of the state” and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, but my decision is in no way based on that – this is an unacceptable and horrible crime. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr. Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!

That being said, we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been a great ally in our very important fight against Iran. The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region. It is our paramount goal to fully eliminate the threat of terrorism throughout the world!

I understand there are members of Congress who, for political or other reasons, would like to go in a different direction – and they are free to do so. I will consider whatever ideas are presented to me, but only if they are consistent with the absolute security and safety of America. After the United States, Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producing nation in the world. They have worked closely with us and have been very responsive to my requests to keeping oil prices at reasonable levels – so important for the world. As President of the United States I intend to ensure that, in a very dangerous world, America is pursuing its national interests and vigorously contesting countries that wish to do us harm. Very simply it is called America First!

I've just read the full quote of trump about the Saudis. I mean why doesn't he just disband the intelligence services because he's publicly said he doesn't believe them twice. The crown prince and the king have apparently denied it ? So what they're hardly going to come out and say "fair cop Donald you're too clever for us" how gullible is he ? The world hard men know they can do what they want as they know it's not a mastermind champion sitting in the White House.
