    Women tend to stay in their own tribe. My sister says the only foreigner she'd get with is a British person. She finds mixed race guys attractive so not xenophobia, and she is multilingual

    It's true actually I am married to a Spaniard and we meet so many couples in our position - Irish Man Spanish wife ... we NEVER meet the opposite !!

    I find foreign women appreciate Irish men more than our own......especially in countries where (unlike here) they are 2nd class citizens. But overall I am getting the popcorn for the rest of this thread as I know it'll get good.

    Irish women have really high standards though. I think it makes it more difficult to stay in a relationship.

    I wonder about that. I know a few Polish girls and middle Eastern girls and I find their take on relationships is quite different to mine and that of Irish girls I know. All the Polish girls I know fully expect that their husband take full financial responsibility for the family. That's paying for home, car, bills, food, clothing for all, anything for the kids. The money they make themselves they consider their pocket money for nails and hair and treats. They've quite high expectations of a partners role in the home too, one girls husband is back and forth from work everyday a few times to see the kids are alright during the summer break for example and he'd also be the main babysitter in the evenings. He wouldn't be getting out on his own ever. I know a few who've mentioned they wouldn't have an Irish man because they'd be watching football and playing computer games etc. So I think there's some swings and roundabouts going on in terms of standards.

    I beg to differ. I find Irish men to be a bit of a head wreck when it comes to relationships, so I married a foreigner.

    If I was having a baby I would want it to be white. I don't think that's racist. I'm white and my wife is white. Any other colour baby would be unacceptable.

    I know someone who dates exclusively foreign women and his little 12 year old bro advanced the best theory I've heard on my why.

    He noticed this guy is quite insensitive by nature and while an Irish girl might respond to some of the things he'll unthinkingly say with a swift "get lost", foreign girls give him a second chance to explain all these things because they assume maybe somethings been lost in translation with language differences. So he has a chance to think every stupid utterance through and go it again and this time parcel it up in a "no what I really meant was ...".

    Id imagine Irish men are more adventurous and open to whatever then Irish women. Lets be real here as well a lot of the South American women especially are obviously very attractive and tend to be a lot less reserved then your average Irish woman.


    You can imagine theres a lot of women who have came over here to find partners as a way out. Hence the reason a lot of them seem to be looking for long term relationships.


    With the change in society and attitudes id imagine a lot of women have went from finding the dark handsome foreigner attractive and exciting to thinking this guy could be dodgy.

    See Irish men are generally very attractive and in decent shape. Lots of world famous Irish male heart throbs.

    The Irish women...not so much

    So it makes sense that the Irish men have the pick of all nationalities. Irish women chasing Irish men also.

    The majority of the women I've been with have been foreign, a lebanese who was sound, an italian that was off the head and now I'm with a Spanish girl, she is the best!
