No I dont think it is said hours are 9-5 but will all be explained on the first day. Pity if there isn't flexi.
They tend to move everyone around after two years anyway I heard so hopefully there will be a chance of flexi then.

    Update for Co. Tipperary

"We have called up to OOM 35 for Co. Tipperary.

The competition at the moment has no closing date but will be closing this year once a new Clerical Officer 2020 panel is in place."

    Hi,

I can not reply to your PM.

Thank you so much. I'm praying I get down through mobility. I'm here in Dublin and I'm 16 on the mobility list for Revenue in Limerick. So I'm hoping they are using the 50/50 rule ;-)

Brush up on your answers for each of the competencies.

They practically walk you through the interview. You will fly through it.
    Best of luck ;-)

A few previous points I mentioned here on what I was asked. It is based on your application form, so be well aware of what you have on it. It can be downloaded from you profile on the Public Jobs site.

I felt the interview went well, lasted the full 30 minutes.

Majority of questions were based around my application form.

How do you deal with difficult work colleagues?
Use of Excel, email and word processing software?
    Effective communication?
How you dealt with difficult customers?
Example of teamwork and how achieved a set goal?
Examples of desire and drive to succeed in a work environment?
    Examples of Time Management?

    And finally.....

Why do you want to work as a Clerical Officer?

All the questions and answers were based around the 4 skills / competency areas:

    • Delivery of Results including Managing and Processing Information
    • Teamwork, Customer Service & Communication Skills
    • Drive & Commitment
    • Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self Development

And having examples to explain how YOU were involved in them.

Can anyone tell me how long the process was between getting asked for references from AGS Garda Clearence to receiving a start date?

Does anyone know if it’s normal to take so long to be called to start working?
I applied in 2017, last year I was called for an interview and my vetting process started in April 2019 and finished in December 2019. I know they called one of my references in December but they still haven’t called me.

Did you get a start date since this post?

    Did your contract say 9-5?
I’m starting 02 too. First he said I was 9-5, then he corrected and said I was in a diff dept but my contract didn’t say any dept and now I don’t know.

Hi, no my contract doesnt say any department or times just Limerick he just said it on the phone. He said I would be taking calls hours are 9-5 but there is flexi time there, All would be explained on first day. It is a bit confusing because anyone I speak to says there is no flexi time in call centre just set hours.

I heard the exact same in the call department its strictly 9-5, but I think the contract says 9-5 flexi I'll have to double check later, I suppose all will be explained soon

If you're working 9-5 flexi it means you have to be there 9-5, but you can also build up time. For example you can go in at 8 and leave at 5 and you'd build an hours flexi. I think you can still take days off with it.

PAS contacted me yesterday requesting references. Can I assume therefore that I've passed the extra vetting process and AGS will contact me soon to discuss a start date?

Don’t think so cause I believe I’m supposed to be in a diff dept and I start 2nd March. He had said I would be 9-5 and then said I was actually not in that dept so I’d be flexi so fingers crossed I’m flexi. It’s the only reason I’m leaving my current job.

Yeah flexi would be great. I was not told what department on the phone so I have been wondering since.

I wasn’t told which dept either but he said it was flexi. So I’m hoping it wasn’t a mistake because without flexi I don’t think I would’ve taken it as I’m leaving a job I love for this. Oh please don’t let it be a mistake!

I'm not sure if this is a silly question or not, could a serving CO apply to the new (not currently advertised-open) 2020 CO competition?
