Maybe it was because the potential No voters were goaded and made feel like they were the worst people ever for holding their views.
Here it is, the victim complex.

No voters were made to feel bad, but nobody ever said anything negative about yes voters I'm sure.

I'm tempted to respond to every No voter in this thread with those big fncking rolleyes. Because bloody hell lads, you're still talking sh1te even though it's over.

cancer patients etc will have wait longer now.

3 day period to reflect before getting abortion pills from your doctor.

My mother does not need to wait 3 days to her cancer meds so your point is very incorrect

Atari Jaguar’d the slip such was my confidence of a yes vote.

Was I included in the Citizens assembly who came up with the proposals?
    Simple question.
I had no say or influence over the citizens assembly and neither did most people.

    Grassroots democracy my eyeball.

Nothing to stop you lobbying for clear, existing hard cases. You had your chance. You could have lobbied, acted and got involved, but you didn't. Either you didn't care, or you weren't interested. You sat on you hole and you shouldn't have if you feel strongly about it.

Savita would be alive now. Hopefully future Savita's will live to have children.

As a yes voter, I hope there will not be jubilant celebrations on the streets. It is abortion after all. Hopefully respect will be shown

Will we now fast forward to hospitals allowing abortions or doctors surgeries giving out pill and protests outside them from the no groups - just to you know rub it in for the women arriving or leaving after having made the difficult decision

I still don’t think the exit polls will be accurate. I wouldn’t have took part in one. I was even afraid somebody would see me vote no in the polling booth - which wasn’t a booth just a desk that you can stand at.

    https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/statistics/staff/academic-research/firth/exit-poll-explainer/

As an example. Even if you don't think the polls are accurate I will bet you my car that they won't be so inaccurate as to have misreported a win for the repeal when it was 68-32.

I don't believe giving the people what was essentially an all or nothing vote is grassroots democracy in action. Do you believe the majority of the population want abortion in any case up until 12 weeks? No, but we were told if you want to repeal for the hard cases you gotta also legislate for abortion on demand. Democracy indeed. Nice way of sliding in something that would of otherwise not had popular support

Irish Times are predicting a majority for Yes in all sections of the country; rural v urban, and in every province. Pretty clear to me.

I want to be clear, this is in no way why I voted yes BUT part of me is very happy that to see the likes of Iona take another defeat. I fully understand why people voted no but likes of Iona have their own agenda, that isn't necessarily in the interests of the Irish people.

You do realise that people who vote no despise the Iona institute my mother is 1. Some people vote for what they think is best and not to give some people (normally the government) a bloody nose

Well it seems there will be no shortage of self-indignant moral virtue-signalling outrage if your posts are any indication, and we haven't even filled up the balloons yet. Most of which are condoms, mind you, since nobody needs them anymore anyway am I right? /s

Trite response to a very serious issue. Why am I not surprised?

This is the end of Fianna Fail's attempt to rehabilitate themselves to the country, unfortunately it leaves the door open now for SF to replace them. Two great results for FG however with this and the marriage equality referendum carried. We look to be heading towards proper right/left politics.

If you are against abortion, then the way to reduce abortion is clear from other countries.

    Real sex education.

    Easy access to contraception.

But how many No campaigners want either of those things?

    But probably true nonetheless.

Hard to see how something that is true is scaremongering?

Anyone who's sad about the outcome - there are going to be around 3,500 empty seats on flights to the UK in the next twelve months. You're free to occupy any one of them.

Better sell my Ryan Air shares quick.

You got your response from the nation.

    Get over it.

It appears to be a pretty clear message to you and yours that you don't get to dictate other peoples choices.

    Thank f. For that

I honestly don't think this result will have party political impact.

Only a margin or error of 1 to 1.5% so either way, it's gone!!

How is that possible with such a variance of voting likely over the different age groups and areas?

Trite response to a very serious issue.

Would say the exact same of your "won't someone think of the children" predictable outrage posts, trying to piss on anything and everyone who expresses relief at the result.

I have F all respect for no voters to be honest... I honestly can't fathom how people could look at this subject and come up with a no. Zero compassion. As someone else asked, if your wife or partner got pregnant and was unfortunate to end up with a FFA would you try and stop her getting an abortion in Ireland?

Ever consider No voters saw no compassion in killing healthy lives in the wombs by healthy women?
I can be on the losing side and happy knowing I voted for what I believed in.
You should respect all voters as we are in a democracy and we all had an equal right to vote the way we wished, we all have to be comfortable with the choice we made when we have our ballot paper in the ballot box.
