assad will be dragged through the streets and celebration will follow

The people huddled in Damascus are far too frightened of the inevitable holocaust if the US backed rebels get in. It’s not even hidden who these rebels are.

No doubt Assad will be dragged through the streets though, by the islamists. As Ghaddaffi was. Maybe Hillary will raise a cackle.

I don’t disagree though about the inevitability of Assad been overthrown.

Given the level of US/Jihadhi propaganda the US (and allies) will eventually destroy Syria, as it has destroyed Iraq and Libya and will some day destroy Iran. Which is already, and absurdly, being blamed for this.

On and on it will go until the Middle East and North Africa are total smouldering messes, and probably Europe too as the blowback will be immense.

. I think Assad is better for Syria.

Wonder what the majority of Syrians think is better for them, wonder if it's different to what putin assad decides

America was attacking jihadists in Syria I would support them and Russia was siding with Jihadists I would say Russia deserves all the hate it got. I think Assad is better for Syria. Can you imagine Isis took Syria it would be so scary they have a hub to launch more attacks against us in the west.

FFS. ISIS controlled a third of Syria when Assad was supposed to be fighting them. Instead he largely ignored them. It was left to the Kurds to do most of the fighting against ISIS with US help.

Maybe so but again the Brits didn't resort to airstrikes against nationalist areas to win the war. Imagine the international outcry if they did.

The brits and the US are bombing all over the Middle East. You are only encouraged to see Russian or Syrian bombings as problematic, so you do.

I've noticed holocaust and genocide gets bandied about when it comes to Putins and assad they were preventing Genocide and another holocaust ....

Kurds and US missed kilometres long traffic jams of oil trucks waiting to get to Turkey.

They controlled a third of the Syria when the US was maintaining a no fly zone for Syria over that area. It was Russian intervention that stopped the spread of Isis.

Russia has Zircon and Sunburn ASM's ....Aircraft carriers are just 70 year old obsolete technology in today's world..going the same way as the Battleship has gone.

Each are surrounded by numerous ships with modern anti missile defences.

Obsolete? Which is why the Chinese are trying desperately to build their own, the UK are building two and every other major nation has at least one.

Ita not actually the ships that count, its the airpower on them. You can't fight a modern war without airpower. And you need a platform to get them near the battle. So not obsolete at all.

Iran ain't no fools, they have plenty of experience with the crooked US and they know damn well they'll be next.I think the countries in the middle East need to realise how the US is destroying the place for their own interests, band together and run them like the scroungey dogs they are

Assad army was weak when the war started they were unable to fight off every group. Isis in 2013 had about 50,000 fighters. They had to pick their fights. In 2015 Assad army was losing the war Isis was about 20 miles outside Damascus and closing in for the finish. Assad requested help from Iran and Russia they joined the war to stop Isis and other Islamic groups from taking Damascus.

Just throwing a question out there, why was there such a hullabaloo for a spy and his daughter getting poisoned, and yet the mass poisoning of innocents including children won't get a fraction of the reaction?

The Syrian Arab Army fought with great heroism against the Terrorist armies..the biggest problem for them was that every second Jihadist had an American TOW anti tank missile launcher.
They and their Hezbollah allies held back the western and Saudi backed savages long enough for help to come.
The streets of Europe are safer today thanks to their efforts.

The bombing of civilians in Mosul by NATO barely got a mention in the subservient media.

John Bolton starts tomorrow as the national security advisor. We going to find out this week if Trump is going to listen to him.

There is UN meeting tomorrow and US media is talking about this nonstop just as Russia predicted would happen. I think the Russians picked up chatter or got a source to tell them what was going to happen.

watch the news tomorrow, there will be a large reaction.

There seems to be a sequence of events lately, which could be leading up to something large.

'Spy' and daughter poisoned, -> mass expulsion of Russian diplomats from Western countries.

North Korea announces they are interested in talks re nuclear disarmament, and will meet with an American president.

Suddenly, reports of a chemical attack in Syria, and an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the alleged chemical attack.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces use tear gas on Palestinian protesters at the border, plus kill 17+ protesters.

The pot is continually being stirred.

What is the difference if they are killed by Chemical Weapons? there are thousands being bombed, shot and maimed every single day. The weapon of choice makes no difference. Assad is right to defend his country and if the US attempts a strike on Syria then Putin could retaliate against the US with a hypersonic missile strike. We are moving closer than ever to the Third World War and large parts of the world are at war already.

I agree if the Americans try for regime change is going to be WW3. Russia is invested now to keep Assad in power. Any missile kills Russian troops they will strike back. Trump, I hope is smart enough to not fall for it?
