Decent video of why it’s important to open the caseback of modern Rolex these days. A lot of work has gone into the external visuals. But it’s easy tell when the back is off.
It is 8, if A) you really know your Rolex genuine movements or B) have a fake and a genuine open together to compare. Your average buyer will likely not be too up to speed on A and is highly unlikely to be in the B position. They'll trust the seller, or the "bargain", or sadly they'll deliberately seek out a fake anyway.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Also be warned that there are fakes that get closer on the movement for way under $600. When I see these youtubers with their "$600 fake" or their $1000 fake i'm reminded of a scene from The Guard

I may be way off the mark here but shouldn't there be "the first watch worn on the moon, flight qualified by NASA" etc on the back of a speedmaster?

He's looking for 2.65k for that and I got the real deal for 2.7k.

Just reported them. Look at their history, there’s no way any legit seller can afford that many luxury watches.

That’s some assumption you have made there tbh
How do you know what someone can or can’t afford, you’re sounding like a bitter old curtain twitcher neighbour

Look look what the Jones’s got this week in their shopping, bastards only got wholemeal bread and they’ve only got cous cous !! Cous cous can you believe it

    :D
    He didn't report them .... :pac::D

    This one still there.

    https://www.adverts.ie/22627701

Seller claims to have had the watch at the jewellers and the watch is real.

He thinks the card is real also but not original to the watch.

I suggested that’s probably something that should be mentioned on the add.....he didn’t respond.

Another “dealer” not to be trusted. There are plenty of these types on adverts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,745 ✭✭✭893bet

I stuck a post on the add and I have no doubt it will be removed.

He updated add, only once he was made though basically.

When he got the watch checked he said they took they caseback off so I assume watch is hunky dory.

They are ETA movements, very easy to copy the engravings and it would pass muster.

Good point. No more to be done on that one.

Hope for the best for the buyers sake.

Even if real it be way overpriced :p

Like the look of them though, I have to say. Came close to buying a slightly older model a year or so ago. But it was also overpriced. Seller was willing to drop 30% off their asking price but it wasn't enough. It's still for sale nuff said

Won it in a raffle too! ...I won a snickers bar in my last raffle

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,745 ✭✭✭893bet

Came here to post same watch. Def snide. Logo on clasp was done free hand.

    Always a back story aswell.

“”I found it in drawer, not sure if real”

“Grand father gave it to me”

“Took as part trade for debt owed, not sure if real”

“Don’t know anything about it as I won in raffle”.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,745 ✭✭✭893bet

His old adds full of snides. Canada goose, Gucci etc.

Must have been a Facebook raffle.....

Worth a look for the band engraved Rolex logo.

I just googled boxes and saw this:

    IMG-20190405-WA0019.jpg

His has that seam. But other gen ones seem to. But I messaged him and his story is completely bullshít. Not that confirmation was needed for that

I don’t understand adverts rules. Are ye not allowed ban people or is there a 4 strike rule.

Another Feiko. Don't get the rationale behind making fake watches of low value brands/models.
