    There's a programme called The Voice UK on TV3.

    There are 8 semi finalists, each of which sings one song each for votes.

    Each song lasts for roughly 90 seconds, but the broadcast is 90 minutes.

    That means this singing competition is roughly (well, exactly) 13% singing.

    I timed one ad break at over 4 mins 30 seconds.

    This means you could do all the singing in the entire semi final in the ads of the first half of the show, and still have time to make a cup of tea and dither over what biscuit to have with it.
