Label on the tyre bazz. I just checked the DOT and its 3119, so manufactured in July 19. Looks to be brand new so. Be very hard to wear 1mm in 3 months I guess!

I'd say they are new so. Did you go with non run flats in the end?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,619 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

Maybe it's a trend they will all follow like the chocolate manufacturers for example...

Get a little less for same price or even more....

I did bazz. Just going to put a small compressor in the boot for emergencies.

Be interested to know how you find them v the old run flats. I stuck with Eagle F1 run flats on the front of mine. My rears will need replacing soon and am tempted to try the Primacy 3 ZPs this time.

On a side note, is it normal for tyres to be delivered in single parcels? I expected them to come in pairs.

8mm is a rough starting thread depth. The more performance based tyres I've seen appeared to have less than the eco tyres.

There's no doubt you've new tyres.

But 1mm tyre wear is circa 10,000kms..... Well doable in 3 months

    It can happen....

Dpd lost one of mine so I ended up with 2 separate shipments and 3 tyres instead of 4.

Depends on where they are coming from. The likes of oponeo have a few warehouses across Europe so depending on stock levels they may be shipped from different locations.

4 new Hankook hoops on the RX. They're okay. Difference in the rears especially - Grenlanders had a ****ton balance weights on the wheels that threw it all off. It doesn't lurch to one side on the brakes on follow itself around corners.

NCT retest in the morning. Now lets see what petty thing Appluss can find wrong with it now.

10k put on the Octavia now, very happy overall except for the seats which still aren’t good on long journeys. Will sort that soon.
Have reversing camera ordered for it, and windows will be tinted soon too.

What are you doing about the seats?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,541 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Fitting extra padding to the lumbar support area.

    Quick question chaps.
Is there any difference in the headlights on a normal Mk5 golf and the GTi?

I'm of the opinion they're the same, but want to get a second opinion, just in case.

I thought the inside of the headlights are silver in the standard mk5 and in the gti they are black

Dunno about that, I’ve taken tyres from brand new to barely legal in less than 10 k

I'm sure people have shredded tyres in a weekend or less.
On your current bus they last a tad more than 10k I'm sure though.

Jaysis that feels very quick. Are you going to do 15 or 30k service intervals?

I had it serviced when I bought it, think its on a 2 year interval (according to the trip computer anyway) or something? Not sure how the mileage thing works but I don’t have to worry about it for a while anyway.

Anyone have experience upgrading a stock head unit in a Corsa D (or equivalent Opel). My unit is the CD30 that supports MP3 via CD and Aux-In but has no native Bluetooth and I'd love to buy an easy stock upgrade from a different model (such as a CD40/CD50). Thanks!

This car came up as an Ad on my FB. I honestly don’t think I have ever seen one in the flesh. I didn’t realise they were 270bhp bit of a sleeper look compared to other hot hatches. So wounded why they never took off a bit more here in Ireland not sure what the new price is on them.

    Link not working for me.

    I presume this is it:

It's certainly not cheap imo. I can see the sleeper appeal though.

Still amazes me to see such a car with chape tax ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,657 ✭✭✭CIP4

Actually just had a look out of interest €41,420 that's without delivery so probably really €42k. When I was attempting to buy a new Golf GTI PP this summer factory order cost was €46,170 that was with no extras, metallic paint or tech pack. So that's a fair difference.

Peugeot GTis over the last decade or two have been underwhelming to drive compared to the days of the 205/306 GTi of the 1990s. With Peugeot on the way up again it will be interesting to see if they start making great GTis again.

I think they’re paired to the individual car?
