    Holloway v Ortega looks like it could be a treat. Some really interesting and great matchups coming up. If they can woo back Conor/Brock/Jones (pending USADA) the UFC could be looking towards a nice year for themselves.

    You don't cut fat though so what advantage would they have giving him cutting water weight?

    Of course losing fat helps you make weight. How wouldn't losing excess fat aid cutting? It would reduce the amount of weight you have to cut...

    Btw. Everyone who cuts water also uses fat reduction as a way of making weight. Hence going on calorie controlled diets for a few weeks before beginning their water cut. They get as lean as they can and then start cutting water.

    It's still very much an anabolic steroid though. Promoting fat loss is one effect. It appears to be used in bodybuilder cutting cycles. But the other effect is increasing strength dramatically without adding bulk. That's a exactly what fighters want "steroids" to do. (the reverse would suit bodybuilders).
    People calling it a "weight-loss supplement" above are way off.

    It's the same steroid than Silva popped for. There where 3 BlackHouse fighters (inc. Ortega) who popped at that time.

    One parting thought from the event at the weekend - Stefan Struve is a terrible heavyweight. He's got such little natural talent it's unreal. How can he be in the UFC for so long and literally never throw a decent jab? For a guy his size that is just criminal.
