Whatever happened to Majority rules though? Trans comprise of 0.3% of population.

Now I know it's only a fcking bathroom but what about a woman who doesn't feel comfortable sharing with a male or vice versa. Where's their say in all this? Who asked them their opinion before going ahead with this?

We don't have majority rules. We have a democracy.

Also, how do you know that the other 99.7% are against the tdea?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Messy and dirty are 2 different things though. Tell me which ones are smellier?

Well it depends. In a poorly cleaned toilet in a pub/club they might be a stronger smell of piss but men walk in piss or poo, wash their hands and leave. They don't hang around talking/applying make up but with a toilet that has the floor wiped and toilets cleaned enough they shouldn't be much on an issue.
Most people have also encountered used sanitary towels put into toilets or thrown on the floor and these aren't nice to be honest. Then there's patches of make up being left on taps and sinks.

Your a moderator on this board.

How many threads are there bashing gay people none that I have counted.

    Plenty bashing Christians.
Mention Islam and the thread vanishes.

Consenting adults are free to do what they like and I have seen NO POSTS disagreeing with this.

However I do not feel the gay lifestyle should be rammed down children's necks.
Children should believe in Santa not this claptrap below.

Straight people have rights also and only the straight lifestyle can biologically produce children.

Edit you stated this tangent the thread is about toilets I don't want women in the toilets I use simple as.

WHat happens when you report the threads?

I'll assume this is a typo...? But one way or the other can you specifcy what you mean by "ramming down childrens' necks"? Because I have no idea what you mean here.

We do. Or at least I do and I'm straight.

Who says it's about producing children? Plenty of people can't produce children. Don't make me pull up the post tearing that argument to shreads, because I have it bookmarked for just such an occasion.

No problem with it per se although if they don't have urinals, it could be a pain in the ass if they get busy and there's queues for the cubicles.

I also presume that the arbitrary references to gender fluidity and binary whatevers in the news reports - as opposed to just, you know, a mixed WC - is, to badly paraphrase Tom Wolfe, necessary to just about stay afloat in the turbulent ideological waters of the modern university.

I meant propaganda and I think you knew that.
I am not great at debating and I do get sidetracked and I also hate this multi quoting stuff.

If you go through my posting history you can find contradicting views I may hold depending on my mood and I think you will find that true of most people.

As a man I do not feel comfortable with unisex toilets I don't mean single rooms I mean open rooms with a shared washing area.
I don't believe that the majority should be bullied into accepting this.

I goopgled it and found this.

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/ellen-nixes-appearance-by-gospel-singer-whos-getting-bashed-for-affirming-c
HOUSTON, Texas, January 5, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Ellen Degeneres has cancelled a scheduled appearance on her talk show by Gospel singer Kim Burrell, after a video of the singer preaching against homosexuality last week was posted online, provoking a backlash.

In the sermon, delivered at the Houston church Burrell founded, the singer warned against homosexual behavior.

"Anybody in the room who is living with a homosexual spirit, beg God to free you. If you play with it in 2017, you'll die from it,” Burrell stated. “If you play with it in 2017 in God's house, you'll die from it. Y'all came to hear about carnal, I came to tell you about sin."

“That perverted homosexual spirit is the spirit of delusion and confusion, and has deceived many men and women,” she said. “And it’s caused a stain on the Body of Christ.”

She also listed specific homosexual acts and said acting upon them was perverted.

Burrell went on to criticize homosexuality in the church, citing Georgia megachurch Pastor Eddie Long, who has been accused of sexually abusing male members of his church, and Andrew Caldwell, who became an Internet phenomenon after a 2014 video of him declaring that he’d been delivered from homosexuality went viral.

The clip with this part of Burrell’s sermon was posted on YouTube with the title “Kim Burrell bashes homosexuals; implies they will die in 2017,” getting more than a half-million views by Monday and those numbers approaching one million at press time.

The following day, Burrell released a video message on Facebook live in which she stood by the message in her sermon, saying she came online to respond to the backlash because she cared about God’s creation.

“I never said LGBT last night,” she stated. “I said S-I-N.”

I wouldn't want them on a show either.

I have no idea what you mean by propoganda but I'm pretty sure that's not what it is. Hence my request for you to clarify what you mean by it so I can see for myself.

But some people don't see the difference between teaching kids that homosexuality exists and is ok, and actually encouraging it.

Was it a unisex toilet? Or was it a gendered toilet? Because I'm not sure what the relevance is. If it was a gendered toilet then are you saying that we should get rid of gendered toilets?

That would mean the majority having to be against it, is that the case in UCD?

It shows MEN do not belong in toilets with young girls.

It does not matter if that man thinks he is a woman transgender or a dolphin.

Not going to tit for tat debate this anymore I have had my say and I suspect I am with the majority but unlike most I am not afraid to express my opinion.

Men in the mens toilets women in the womens toilets the way it has always been.

I hope they will still provide toilets for those of us who don’t want to share the toilets with the opposite sex.

I just said I was out but I will answer this one.
Public toilets in many cases have been closed and replaced by superloos because of that problem.

.... which is exactly what I'm talking about, but indoors.

Yes, I can imagine this issue took up the full resources of both the administaiver and faculty staff of the entire university. I am sure they weren't even able to hold lectures while this was all being sorted out...

Many years ago, well, about 26, I had a few mates that went to Coleraine university (I didn't as a was a complete waster but I did go to events), back then the toilets in the SU building where they had big event were unisex.26 fcuking years ago. And here's the weird thing, no one got raped! Go figure.

    MrP

Those toilets weren't very heavily used. Most people going to the union building were going to the bar, not to the offices where the union officers were.

Most people who went there probably didn't know there was toilets down there. The toilets in the bar were male and female, and were pretty busy as you'd expect in a pub.

Yes. Women used to have no public facilities and as a result their participation in public life was severely limited.its still the case in many parts of the world

I'm gonna maybe catch this in the open. I believe when people are referred to being gender neutral it means that they do not associate as either, and thus can have the security of using a gender neutral bathroom. Also referring to the fact that they will be keeping the old style of toilets for those less comfortable. I don't see there as being a major issue.

If we take the US statistic that 0.3% of the population identify as transgender, that gives us about 14,300 potential transgender people in Ireland. There are over 40,000 wheelchair users in Ireland. Why are the universities not making all bathrooms wheelchair friendly? It's probably because it's cheaper to stick a new sign on the doors and put tampon machines in the gents and feel good about themselves than making the bathrooms wheelchair accessible.

What percentage of the population are "gender-fluid"? Google gives wildly different answers depending on who you listen to.

Very simple answer here. It cost nothing to make single toilet gender neutral but costs a lot to change to disabled toilets. All of the toilets being made gender neutral are single toilets.

Worth noting that we already have gender neutral disabled toilets for decades in Ireland so it's not a new thing.

Also worth noting that you can be straight, gay, bi and use these toilets. In other words EVERYONE can now use these toilets. It's much more efficient.

Yeah a girl now has to go to the toilet with a man taking a dump beside her. How progressive.

Oh no, there are 31 genders in the state of New York now - yes that's 29 genders on top of male and female. Something like 58 genders on facebook apparently. Am I the only person out of 7.4billion people on the planet, who thinks that some of them are just making **** up?
