Well unless your peeing on yourself and on your trousers it would have to be out ?
Maybe you haven't mastered it yet sorry ,

Well having our flute out is a bit ambiguous in the way you phrased it! Pants have zippers/flaps for discretion you know!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I don't know about others but my pretty average size penis petruds out past the zipper! You can still see it and everything!

    That's nothing

Sure my local compère doesn't know if he's a man or a woman
    MC gone mad

Then they wanted to install a gender neutral toilet across the road from me gaff for the tourists!
    DC gone mad!

Brian Johnson has lost his mind. It's ACDC gone mad!!....

    Its pretty simple stuff

I know this is a comedy sketch from a comedy film,, but imagine with all these new planned gender neutral bathroms, if some weird pervert types decides to do something like that scene for real in like a real life scenario.

Out of curiosity, do they get rid of the urinals when toilets go gender neutral or how does it work?

Don't think so, I used to live in Belgium and a bar I used to drink in had a unisex toilet with urinals. The Vintage Bar in Louvain La Neuve.

First they came for the socialists...

Pc gone mad once again-strongly disagree with this move, one of the purposes of separate bathrooms for both genders is privacy for the two genders,, example if a woman or girl is in the bathroom looking in the mirror fixing her makeup she don,t need a fellow walking into the same bathroom shes in as it may likely make her feel uncomfortable or vice versa if a guy is using a urinal he don,t need a woman or girl walking in him taking a p***,, + Id have to question could such a scenario be classed as indecent exposure or something along those lines ?

This story from Australia is worth reading,, one guy was all in favour of gender neutral bathrooms until he found himself uncomfortable one night after using one.

    http://www.betootaadvocate.com/headlines/i-was-fully-pro-gender-neutral-bathrooms-until-i-had-to-take-a-****-in-a-nightclub/

I have Two bathrooms in my house. They are gender neutral. I could have a separate "Ladies" & "Gents" but it really would be daft. I don't see why some are getting worked up by changing the name on the door.

People seem to miss or deliberately miss the point that the toilets in question are single toilets. Single toilet with a wash basin on a corridor. These aren't unisex toilets (I wouldn't have a problem if they were). These are single toilets. There wont be girls doing their hair for fellas to see.

Keyword, again, being "discretely" - something you (yourdeadwright) never clarified,

In any case, if it's so big or your so clumsy that you can't pee cleanly without whipping "your flute out" to the point of endangerment of other people, then I suggest you use one of the cubicles. But for the love of CHRIST lock the door first. Please :)

    That makes sense. Seems reasonable

That's far too sensible a point. Less nuance, more grandstanding.

Single toilets have always been gender neutral. Well most of them. Sometimes you get a male and female single toilet at a service station. I never understood that.

Are you sure that UCD only recategorised single toilets?

I hate to be mansplaning here but there is really only one way to remove one's penis from the zipper, its not discrete or done with pizzazz, due to the zipper being close to the body almost all the penis is out, that means even for an average size penis like my own all 12" is out!

Yes. They have hundreds of single toilets throughout the campus. Some had a matchstick man above the door & some had a matchstick lady above the door. UCD had someone on Pat Kenny this morning explaining. Only single toilets. He confirmed this. I didn't catch anything about changing rooms so can't comment on that.

These toilets are like your toilet at home. Gender Neutral

Again, its not just the toilets, read the article, its also the changing room in the Sports club.

You can decide which gender you are on a Monday and this gives you the right to use the women only changing rooms.

You can change back on Tuesday and decide to use the mens changing rooms.

Thats my take on it anyway.

Ive been in unisex toilets all over the world. I'm not sure why Ireland is so backward on things like this. I think the big problem here is the term "gender Neutral". Some seem to fear that the "gays" are taking over the world Personally I think "unisex" wouldn't get the reaction that "gender neutral"

Don't forget folks there is no one dragging you into these toilets. UCD still have plenty of separate male/female toilets

Yup. Yet another case of people tripping over themselves trying to be offended about nothing. :)

It's not Ireland, it's a certain type of person. You see the same reaction from the religious right in the US. there are certain people that believe in fixed gender roles and they get weird if anything doesn't fit into them.

It was just a regular gents with loads of urinals and loads of cubicles. They just changed the sign on the door from 'Gents' to 'Unisex'. There was no other toilets in that area, so this must have been the solution to having no female toilets nearby.

That’s a bit different though isn’t it. They didn’t just introduce unisex toilets, they actively took away the amount of men’s toilet facilities by extending their use. Which is fine if someone has done the math but in effect men will now queue longer to pee women will queue less. Of course I’d assume that ladies facilities have also been co opted in this way so it would balance out and is actually just beneficial to groups who don’t identify as their birth sex.

I’d always understood that legally they had to be (for obvious reasons) hence why I wondered previously about the post that the gents had just been co opted

Insecure in their own sexuality imo. There'll be pooping & weeing going on in these toilets same as every other toilet. You don't even have to be gay to use them.

I'm proud that both my bathrooms at home are gender neutral! :)

Is it any wonder Irish Universities are slipping down the world rankings when they are more concenred about gender neutral toilets.

Yes, I can imagine this issue took up the full resources of both the administaiver and faculty staff of the entire university. I am sure they weren't even able to hold lectures while this was all being sorted out...

Many years ago, well, about 26, I had a few mates that went to Coleraine university (I didn't as a was a complete waster but I did go to events), back then the toilets in the SU building where they had big event were unisex.26 fcuking years ago. And here's the weird thing, no one got raped! Go figure.

Seems to be a lot of people who are afraid their inner sex offender will be released by the sight of women. Or maybe it's just spurned feelings of inadequacy. Are you afraid the women will laugh at your "massive" hard on?

Are you suggesting that just because I happen to have a penis and want to use the women's shower I'm automatically a sex offender?

Altering the educational curriculum to support a person political agenda is very dangerous. Especially subjects such as history.

Why not include the pogroms against Protestants in the immediate post independence period? Why does LGBT historical marginalisation get in ahead of other cases? How much time will be spent on this? Where would the time come out of - would parts of the curriculum detailing the famine, the troubles, etc be reduced to satisfy Zappone's political agenda.

It also sets a dangerous precedent for future ministers to interfere with other subjects - could a future ministers to interfere with the Science subjects to promote a personal belief in Intelligent Design vs Evolution by forcing them to be given parity within the course? We laugh at the Americans when they do this, but Zappone could be engaging in the exact same behaviour, just on a different topic.

I'll admit I dislike Zappone, she's escaped the Maurice McCabe unscathed, despite being in charge of TUSLA during the period in which they went rogue.

Protestants? I doubt if the previous history of British rule will ever be discussed.

It will be “you’re all white heteronormative cis privileged **** and have always been white heteronormative cis privileged ****”.
The current teaching of the history of British rule in Ireland is a bit disingenuous as is - the average Irish peasant was no worse treated than the average English peasant.

Neither had much in the way of rights and were at the mercy of the ambitions and madness of an aristocracy, which was aided by elements of the native aristocracy to further their own position.

However, this is largely glossed over in favour of a narrative where the english oppressed the irish, and disregards the wider trend across the world of conquering forces oppressing natives, and their own[the treatment of the French by their aristocracy is only mentioned in the context of their Revolution, and nothing is made of the massacre of the Huguenots, an act of sectarian genocide that puts anything the British did in Irelan to shame].

And that's before bringing up how the British army recruited plenty of soldiers from both Protestants and Catholics[admittedly the Catholics were historically relegated to the common soldiery rather than officers, but that has as much to do with the domination of the officer corps armies of that period by the aristocracy, which was Anglican].

Really, the Irish experience of British rule is just a bog standard tale of haves vs have notes, given a nationalistic and sectarian spin. It was an unpleasant, but common experience for people at the time.

As far as I know every disabled toilet in the country is gender neutral unless it's actually part of a large ladies or gents toilet. Large toilet not large ladies and gents.

I've never seen a gents or ladies only disabled toilet. When it's just a single toilet. Hard to believe that we've had gender neutral toilets for decades and never realised.

In NUIG they designated a blast of toilets as 'gender neutral' and across the corridor they put in separate-sex prayer/meeting rooms for conservative muslim students.
