She wrote for the property section. A copy and paste job basically.

That is not very accurate. She was a freelance journalist and wrote many articles on different topics for various publications. I remember as I've always been a huge fan of her writing.

Is it the 'Instagram make-up' thing? They seem to go for full glam all day, everyday.

I seen one of them in ikea one day. She did not look anything like her photos. The makeup was greasy and orange. Her spots were huge on her face probably from wearing makeup everyday. They were like the lumps on witches Halloween masks. It’s a vicious circle then having to wear it everyday then to cover the spots not giving the skin a chance to breath.

For real? She comes as a bit of an arse, I've only become aware of her within the last year or so. She kinda reminds me of a character from Sex in the City.... if it was set in Carlow, and all the other characters were replaced by mentally unwell people, but ill deffo look into her articles and maybe my opinion will change (not that anyone cares)

Sorry you’re right. I think she had a three day run in Lovin Dublin as well.
    My bad.

She wrote the fashion blog for the Irish times as well Fash Mob(it was back in the earlier days of blogging) and she also worked as an editor for one of the irish magazines, Can't remember which one but she gave that up to go fulltime freelancing i.e. blogging.

I always think that was a big mistake for her, she said she really liked that job but i think she got jealous of all the other bloggers who seemed to be making a fortune and decided to jump on the bandwagon. However her audience demographic didnt lend itself to commercialisation. The people she appealed to were the ones most likely to call 'bull****' about any underhand practices that other bloggers get away with, well thats my take on it anyway.

I used to like her writing a lot but i've gotten sick of her, i feel like she writes for controversy now rather than having a considered/consistent opinion on things so ive unfollowed and just dip in to her blog now and again.

It was Stellar magazine, she was the deputy editor there for a while :)

She also wrote for Kirstie McDermott's second blog Frillseeker

That reminds me that she wrote a piece about hair for that blog, I'll let the piece speak for itself.

    https://www.frillseeker.ie/2014/10/17/a-change-would-do-you-good-rosemary-on-hair-and-other-stories/

Imagine giving your friend grief because they haven't changed their hairstyle and trying to persuade them to get a pixie cut. She comes across like a jealous friend

Here's an excerpt from the article

One of those is shyness: I mean, c’mon, what’s the point? It might be down to my absolute inability to even feign same – after all, aren’t most irrational dislikes borne of jealousy – but I can’t for the life of me understand why one would go through life being afraid of speaking up or making oneself be heard.

My number one, though: people’s outright refusal to change hairstyles. I have a friend, let’s call her Raisin, who has the most incredible hair you’ve ever seen. She’s never dyed it and goes for regular trims; it’s dark brown and luscious, and falls in (natural) waves to the middle of her back. In short, it’s perfect – and has been identical for the 25-odd years I’ve known her, with the exception of a glorious two years in primary school when her mother cut in a blunt, pudding-bowl fringe.

All of our friends agree that Raisin has the Best. Hair. Ever. Which is why they get so agitated when I object. “Wouldn’t you like to try something different?” I ask – then, never one for half measures: “What about a nice pixie crop? You have the face for it.” (She really does.)

I sometimes fantasise about going camping with Raisin, and waiting for her to fall fast asleep in the damp heat of our sweaty tent before taking out my hairdressing scissors (family heirlooms; my grandfather was a hairdresser in the 1950s, so I imagine I’d be very good at it) and slicing her ponytail clean off. It’s no surprise, then, that Raisin is always too busy for my proposed weekend jaunts.

It must be hard being one of these social influencer/Bloggers where you have to look perfect everyday.  Imagine not being able to pop down to the shops without being glammed up in case someone spots you not looking perfect. I guess this is the bed that these people have made for themselves, I hope its worth it.  For me I don't think I could do that.

Rosemary gets on my wick more than the make up fairy. And that’s saying something

I followed Aoibhe devlin there recently and really like her. Herself and beautiful truth seem a breath of fresh air at the moment

    What's the point in shyness?

I would imagine it is often down to damaged or low confidence, or maybe even psychological. Either way, i doubt it has a 'point'.

What's the point in fantasising about cutting your friends hair while she sleeps so that it looks like yours?
(who's hair is probably the best because she hasn't been spraying it and dying it and cutting it all the time...)

There's nothing wrong with not liking her - but I think your being a little unfair to her, she has a fair bit of journalism and media experience.

That may be the case but all I've seen her do is jump on bandwagon after bandwagon, post crying selfies, blog about how much she spends weekly then follows it up with panhandling through patreon. Im sure she's a really nice person but she does come across as a bit of an entitled mope.

Can you give me an example of a story that she broke as a journalist?

It's hilarious that people are influenced by the likes of this woman.

    From Fora.ie
According to data released to Fora, some 105 complaints were sent to the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) regarding the promotion of brands by social media stars last year.

The figure for 2017 is nearly a tenfold increase on the total number complaints registered for 2016, when 11 objections were made to the ASAI.

Interesting to see that more and more people ar reporting what they see as false advertising from bloggers and influencers. 30 complaints made so far this year, st the same time last year it was 33 so not far oof. I guess there are a lot more campaigns and promoted posts etc. in the run up to Christmas which would increase the numbers...just a guess though.

    Which one was that?

I'd imagine they could be gone for a whole raft of things.
While it served a great purpose at the start it felt like it was very personal recently. I'd imagine there were vested interests.

They had a post about the horses at Rathbeggan being mistreated and tied up away from water and then the owner's daughter came on and tore strips off them

I am not an equine expert but I didn't feel right about that post. Too much hearsay by people who really don't know what they're talking about.

I'm not an expert either but it didn't fit in that page
