    Leinster will beat the spread.

How Ah You can be selected after his lack of interest against Munster is stunning.

One of my top 5 Leinster tries.

Josh Murphy is a bit of a curveball in the Leinster backrow. Wonder neither of VdF or Jordi Murphy are involved.

    FYP

Apparently Best is a huge fan of his and was partly responsible for him heading to Ulster, after the tour to Argentina

Should rename him Ah here! ;)

But to be fair, he had a long injury lay off and it wasn't just him that was a bit rusty.

Given SOB and Leavy have knocks they may be protecting Josh.

Leo must be afraid Jordi will throw the game for his new employers

Edit just seen Jordi is in

Yeah and after the the workload VDF got through last week, Leavys injury and SOB still not fit we didn't really have anyone else. Josh Murphy is a good blindside though. Looking forward to seeing how he goes.

Deserves his chance and this is a fairly high profile game where he can prove himself as Deegan did last week.

VDF was always going to be needed for Europe regardless of SOB and Leavys fitness. Especially against Glasgow and the speed they like to play at. No point risking him this week. Poor fella probably needed a rest after tackling all the Connacht players twice

17/23 Players who have only ever played for Leinster (74%)
19/23 Leinster developed players - added Sexton and Mick Kearney (83%)
21/23 Ireland developed players - added Cronin and Henshaw (91%)

Only 13 Ireland capped players?! God this team has gone to the dogs.

    Leo out!

That's a very strong Leinster front 5. The back row, while not as strong as I'd like for this game, is still a competitive one. The backs are a bit of a mix n' match but still strong enough. Another week where I don't get a Larmour, Lowe, Adam Byrne back three.

So I'd hazard a guess at the Leinster team looking something like this:

    McGrath Tracy Furlong
    Toner Fardy
    Murphy Conan Murphy

    JGP Byrne
    Henshaw Ringrose
    Nacewa Larmour Daly

Byrne, Byrne, Bent, Kearney, Timmins, McCarthy, Marsh, Byrne

    Jordi on both flanks?? :pac:

How in the name of flip has Noel Reid amassed 92 Leinster caps?

    Oh, and Leinster by +20

Inability to develop a homegrown 12 of higher quality.

Hes a bit underrated on here, solid pro 14 player and rarely injured so picks up a lot of appearances over the season. Hes been good this season IMO.

I'm a fan of Reid honestly, he has a lot of spark about him at 12 and he has very good awareness of what's around him for breaks or collecting passes etc.

At this stage it seems as though we see a lot of posts along the lines of 'Reids actually doing well this season', every season...!

If you're a provincial squad player you can rack up caps very quickly.
Duncan Williams is making his 148th Munster appearance tomorrow despite never being a first choice scrum-half.

92 caps is not that many these days.

Because realistically he is below the required standard at the top level especially defensively..

Last season he actually made his tackles for a while. This season has reverted again.

He turns 28 later this season...has been on the go for a good few years now. I wouldn't have been surprised to see him on a higher figure. He must feature in about 12-15 Pro12/14 games a season along with a few European games.

If he stays fit and Leinster retain him, he'll end up with not far off 200 appearances.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,010 ✭✭✭MattD

No one's saying he should be first choice for Leinster or Ireland. He's just a good option, and one that I'm happy to see line out for Leinster.

no way he makes 150 IMO, well unless the academy utterly fails to develop the O'Briens - Conor, Jimmy, Tommy and Sean.

Last season he actually made his tackles for a while. This season has reverted again.

Last week a lot of'em he was trying to go very low, which increase the chances of missing. He seems to be a bit unsettled on it. But he's good at attacking. So I reckon that's kept him in the game.
