I love the eerie moments as well.

In solo last night at a group of houses near the high rises. Was alone as I did a serious glide from the plane. About to go out the back door when I changed my mind re loadout and went back upstairs for a grip. Went to the window to get it and saw something out of the corner of my eye... guy prone to the left of the door aiming right at the door I was about to waltz out of. Crouched there watching him and found it quite eerie.

Boom, first solo chicken dinner! Was shaking like a leaf when there was just the 2 of us left. Some game for getting the heart rate up.

Has anyone encountered this before? We were flying in and everyone got kicked from the plane at the same time.

It was a bit of a clusterf*ck start but we got a chicken dinner out of it!

a port of pubg is up and running on mobile phones in china.

Dare i say it, but it actually looks to be running smoother than it does on xbox, granted the visuals have taken a hit, but I'd take performance any day of the week

Whilst resolution and draw distance have been hit it appears a lot smoother and has some additional effects (like contrails on the plane).

People going to town on bluehole saying it proves they’re awful developers given what these Chinese guys have smashed together for mobile with the same engine.

That sounds harsh - like given how big PUBG has been MS must be firing elite resources at this to clean it up and optimize it on the Xbox platform.

Just had a game of 3rd person view there,my first game in 3rd person. jumped into the prison killed one fella in a fist fight, got scar and another assault assault rifle. Killed another in the building, one just got away from me after hitting him from range a few times and then some fella ran right into my assault rifle.. 3 kills in first 5 mins :D had to move to new zone I stupidly shot a car but didn’t realise I was out of bullets and he came at me while I was switching guns. Tried to jump out of way of car but ended up jumping directly into it and dying :pac: Was pretty enjoyable game, might try a few more games in TPP

I only ever play FPP because I think TPP is cheap and helps campers cos they can still see out windows with no risk at all. The problem is that FPP seems to have far better skilled players. I enjoy the first half of this game but can barely handle the end game, I just get too nervous. I was say in a house last night, minding my own business, and was sniped in the head from, well I don't know...I got such a shock.

Can you change to TPP in FPP?

FPP is definitely a more immersive experience and yes you get some serious frights in it. I've been playing it solely since it was added, got a few top tens but not having that 360 view at all times while staying still is both a hindrance and makes it more thrilling, but ya it never ends well.

After playing over 100 FPP games, I dropped back into TPP for a quick game and won the damn thing, it was best gaming experience ever, so I might take a break from TPP for a while and play the easier way.

No, they run on different servers.

I have been playing both lately, TPP is definitely easier, especially for me with a hearing loss as the loop doesn’t really give me a sense of where the sound is coming from, I’m racking up kills that I could only dream of in FPP. When I just want to have a bit of fun I will play the TPP but if I want to have a serious game it’s FPP for sure.

Watched a video of PUBG on youtube last night and it looks like serious craic. I'm not a serious gamer though, so would I just get wiped out early on regularly? or is there are ranking system like rocket league so I could play people at my own level

There's no ranking system, but you will improve.

just jump in and go for it, I've gotten the same amount of enjoyment (and perhaps more) by playing it stealthy and avoiding people - you can get to the top 10 handy enough without ever firing a shot. I guarantee you'll still get some adrenaline rush from it.

There is a ranking system behind the scenes, you can check your ranking on the main menu under career.
As your rank goes up you should get matched with similar rank levels.

On the PC, any time they reset the leaderboards the first few matches seemed so easy until I get ranked up and get my ass whopped again.

Well I bit the bullet and downloaded PUBG last night. Played 3 times. Best I did was about 64th. In that game I thought I was in pretty good shape. Landed in a safe enough location, found some decent guns and a helmet. Was camping out aiming at the door of the house I was in. First guy through the door kills me with one shot after I miss him about 5 times.

Great game and stupidly tense considering you can be sitting still for minutes at a time!

Got to 3rd last night. Down to last circle and had a bead on one guy and in a perfect position but I couldn’t see other guy.

He came in from the blue! Seriously gutsy move.

My heart was thumping. Thought my first chicken dinner was nigh!!

Sure I came 7th last night with a crossbow and a pistol and didn't fire a shot because I couldn't find anyone except one I ran over. Does the grass not load in far away for everyone or just me because I was lying in the field and someone saw me instantly

99% of the time when you're on the side where the blue circle is the widest there will be players coming in from it.

Yeah, past a certain distance, the grass doesn't render. Unless you're behind a tree, they'll be able to see you sticking out like a sore thumb.

Sorry if this has been asked previously, but how do you attach modifications to weapons? (if I live long enough to get to find and use one)

if you press start when looting, then hover over the attachment and hit A, it'll attach them (not all attachments fit all guns).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,248 ✭✭✭Max Mafioso

Not all parts will fit some weapons, if you press start and go to the attachment you want to add to your weapon, press x and it should show on the weapon side a faint box over where the attachment will go, double click the x button and it should put it there automatically

Loot by pressing start when you find loot (rather than aiming at an item and trying to pick it up).

Press start to open the inventory. Move into items you have by pressing the right bumper, go to the item. If you press A and you have a weapon the thing can fit onto a space in your weapons on the right will change colour. If nothing happens you have no compatible weapon.

I don’t think that’s what happened. I think he was behind rocks and went around through the blue to flank me.

The blue had finished contracting in the previous cycle around 30 seconds before.

My oh got me that for Valentines Day. I can’t wear it until I actually win a game. :(

So you might as well sell it on eBay

    :p

The kids actually want me to wear it while I play so it’ll bring me luck. :D

I get into the top 10 fairly regularly just by being careful but it goes to sh!t when I actually have to shoot people.

Does the win have to be solo or can you be in a team?
Did she specify the rules? ;)

Got to 6th last night and was well chuffed, next game got killed mid 80s by a combination of an unarmed guys punches and a guy with a sickle, whilst I had a shot gun!
