In Camogie, its half time and going well for Cork.

    Tipperary 0-2 Cork 1-9

but Cork had a very strong wind in the first half.

In Ladies football, Cork played Limerick in the Munster Minor Championship today

    Limerick 0-4 (4) Cork 6-18 (36)

Limerick had only 1 point at half time. I think in these situations, Limerick need to get every help to make them somewhat competitive. It must be very disheartening to get hammered like that.

Looking forward to the hurlers tonight, I think it will be a good game at home. It is basically a league semi final. Good crowd expected and on TV. We are going nicely with 35 players being used in the league so far. At the end of the day, the league is about finding options for the championship. It would be nice to win it but its about making sure we are ready come Championship and fair dues to Ryan he has us going nicely. Competition for positions is very high. Niall O’Leary and Darragh Fitzgibbon have been ever present in the league and strangely enough Fitzgibbon didn't even score the last day but still contributed to the play. This is why you need a spread of scorers in case one regular scorer has an off day. We have had 20 different scorers in the league so far, Its an awful pity to see Power out as he was going well. But we have a good supply of scorers still. I'm hoping to see Ethan Twomey have another good game tonight as well as Brian Roche. Twomey has had 6 points so far and Roche with only 2. But I thought Roche was instrumental the last day setting up goals with great vision in his passes.

I hope we get more game into certain players. Coleman starts as he has been out for a bit. We need to get more game time into Harnedy, O'Connell and Connolly off the bench. I'm hoping to see Jack O'Connor and Healy come on too. As I said, our panel is strong now and we couldn't even find places in it for Jack Leahy and Stephen Buckley. 2 players who looked most impressive but who would you drop for them. Hard to say. We seem to have a good depth to our panel now for the Championship.

    Full time in the Camogie

    Tipperary 0-7 (7) Cork 1-12 (15)

Unbeaten in the league and into a league final now with a game to spare.

Playing well and are going to be there abouts for silverware this year.

We really are putting Galway to the sword at the moment. Of course they'll probably still make it out of a weak Leinster championship regardless, but you'd have to be confident enough about our chances in the league final now. It's time to end the almost thirty year drought in that.

Great to have a National League final to look forward to.

    Hope Brian Hayes is okay.

Will final be Cork, Thurles or neutral venue (Limerick). Should be a good game -Tipp are much improved this year

I heard we are owed a home game from Tipp in the home and away arrangement but it comes down to what the officials in Croke Park say I think. Be great if it was a double header with Offaly and Waterford

I reckon it might be in Cork. We do have a home and away agreement normally with Tip and we went to Thurles for the semi of the league in 2012.

A very composed performance tonight. As each sub came on you got the feeling that the team was not being weakened in anyway. The strength in depth is unreal - as good a Cork squad as I can remember.

A league title would be very nice - winning is a habit.

leading 0-10 to 0-4 after 25min. Playing with the wind so will need a decent half time lead but we have missed 2 great goal chances

11v 5 up at ht but butchered a couple of goal chances. Should be a close finish to this game I think.

Its been a great weekend for Cork teams!!

The ladies footballers won in National League Division 2 also

    Cork 1-12 Clare 0-7

A great win in Cavan on what looked like a beach of a pitch and strong wind.

They’d put years on you watching them 😅 Division 2 is their level, and if they have any notions of competing consistently with Division 1 sides, they have to be ruthless for goals. 2 butchered in 1st half, another 3 or 4 went for point when goal was very much on.

Is there still a sequence of events where they can end up in Tailteann Cup if they don’t reach Munster final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,296 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

Good win for the footballers there away to Cavan. That should be enough for us to avoid going into the Tailteann cup now.

How will cork deal being without Hayes for the league final and beyond?

Connolly full forward? harnedy would be an option there too. Dalton seemed to be corner forward last night. Roche has some workrate. I guess you need that balance.

Hearing Hayes did no serious damage and should be okay for championship! 🤞

I wouldn't risk him for the league final.

Especially when there are lads like Connelly who badly need game time!
