The changes were necessary and hopefully they will have the desired result.

Midleton 1-14 Blackrock 1-11 at halftime. Enjoyable game, Lehane with a couple of great points from either sideline

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Big win for Midleton over the defending champions.

Currently Sarsfields 0-8 Glen 0-7 at HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

pat Horgan with the last 2 points to put the Glen through 1-17 to 018

  • Registered Users Posts: 802 ✭✭✭Rebel1977

Great win for Midleton today played really well big score they racked up but the Blackrock defence were not up to it could have conceded a lot more. it will be a hard final to call had tipped SARS to win today but fair play to the Glen

Mourneabbey 1-01 v 1-00 up at the first water break, scoring a nice goal just at the end.

Mourneabbey up 1-06 v 1-02 up at ht. Hard to see them lose it from here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Eire Og really need a goal, Mourneabbey dealing well with the yellow card

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,390 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

They still lead, 1-09 v 1-04 at the second water break.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

comfortable enough for Mourneabbey in the end, 1-11 to 1-6

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,390 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Mourneabbey 1-11 v 1-06

7th win in eight years. Scally and the Cahalanes did their best but there was no stopping the very experienced Mourneabbey side.

Senior football semifinals today, Douglas v Clonakilty at 1 followed by St Finbarrs v Castlehaven. Both games streamed by the Examiner

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Ladies football All Stars last night for Erika O'Shea at half back and Hannah Looney in midfield

Senior football, Clonakilty 0-15 Douglas 1-11. Clon the better side all through and should have won by more, Douglas goal coming from an injury time penalty at the end of the game

St Finbarrs 2-7 Castlehaven 1-7 at halftime. end to end game, plenty goal chances for both sides

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

St Finbarrs 3-11 Castlehaven 3-11. extra time to follow. bit of a controversial call on late 45 for Castlehaven to level the game. Brian Hurley after missing a few chances that he would usually get struck the 45 over to force extra time

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Horrible way to decide it but it's going to penalties

    Barrs win 5-4 on penalties

Ed Sheeran gig to move Cork's Munster SHC clash with Clare out of Páirc Uí Chaoimh (irishexaminer.com)

Embarrassing, and a disgrace. What's the point of rushing to pay off the stadium if we can't hold the Senior matches there?!

Hopefully it will get moved to another Cork venue, like Pairc Ui Rinn where the atmosphere should be intensified with lower capacity.

No big deal, would be foolish to turn down the money involved

Ideally game will go to Thurles

  • Registered Users Posts: 540 ✭✭✭Corcaigh84

I'll never turn down an excuse to go to Thurles tbh

Hi All. Does anyone know anything about season tickets for next year. They are a great Xmas present. No sign online of them coming out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,121 ✭✭✭big_drive

The gaa said they're not in a position yet to do anything with the uncertainty. My thinking is there won't be one because case numbers, etc going in wrong direction and they won't be able to guarantee anything that far in advance regards fixtures, etc

Premier Senior hurling final tomorrow, Glen Rovers v Midleton at 3

    Senior A final, Kanturk v Fr. O'Neills at 1

    Examiner showing both games

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,262 ✭✭✭Cork2021

Kanturk deservedly winning, ref wasn’t a help but o neills missed dalton. If Kanturk wide count will need to improve for next year. Won’t get away with it there

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭zetecescort

great win for Midleton and a great display from Conor Lehane, Midleton 0-24 Glen Rovers 1-18

Ladies football Munster championship, Mourneabbey 3-15 the Banner 3-5

Delighted for Lehane, yes he was inconsistent at times for Cork but he was often unfairly branded the fall guy by many. You could see how much it meant to him, that's 2 county titles & 2 motm awards for him.

Midletons shooting in the first half was excellent but they did their best to shoot it away in the second half with several poor wides and were very nearly caught for a Glen equalising goal in added time. They'll need to sort that out for the Munster campaign, but well deserved win today.
