The talent in Cork is overstated. What have they won? Name an all star in waiting defender who stops his man scoring?
Could badly do with a few Jackie tyrells types?

The goal Waterford got was ridiculous.... a number of Cork defenders ran with or towards the WD player... none of them looked like they wanted to stop him... just run with him.... Imagine what John Gardiner or Wayne Sherlock would have done to him...

On talent... one of the best players in Cork County Champ this year was a Kerryman.. Enuf said!!

Slightly off topic but why aren't the seats in Pairic Ui Chaoimh red and white?

Red fades and looks terrible over time, at least that's my idea why

The red would fade over time I believe due to the weather

Sorry, but of course it is his fault. The buck always stops with the manager. Its not like we were 2 points up and some player made a mistake to let them in on a winning goal. It was desperate stuff all over.

Great post in general. The fact that he goes on about training matches means he either doesn't have a clue, or the players are codding him. There is no way our training can be as intense as KK/Lim/Tipp/Galway, because we literally cannot win dirty ball, or fcuking tackle for that matter. I know in a perfect world with great hurling there will be little need for rucks, but I'm blue in the face from saying it. Watch the game back and count the 50/50s we won, whether we outnumbered Waterford men or not. It's embarrassing.

And then he brings on Luke Meade. I know we've injuries but when that's what's coming off our bench we have no hope.

    As another FYI,

It will be live on Sky Sports Mix again. This time I demanded Sky and the GAA to put the footballers on after it instead of before and they gave in! Well maybe that didn't happen exactly like that, but Dublin beating playing Westmeath will be on after it.

Funny you should say "players are codding him" as I was talking to someone who is close to the team and they said Kingston is too laidback and friendly with the players and lets them almost get on with it. Remember they wanted him so he feels loyalty to them. This was told to me BEFORE the Waterford game and then again after it. Of course you can hear loads of things and hard to know whats true but I believe it now. Hardly anyone gets dropped and we do the same thing over and over. That's why I knew there wouldn't be many changes before the game. I hope Kingston's hand is forced now and he gets a rocket under all their backsides.

It simply has to be better against Dublin.

All about damage limitation at the weekend I'm afraid. Throw the shackles off and let fellas have a go off it and hopefully put the foundations of a team for next year. A good performance is what we need after the hurling last week

    He is injured alright

The word around was he’s had to isolate as a close contact of someone with Covid

I'm not confident in either code this weekend. The footballers put up some great football last year from the previous 5 or 6 so that was welcome. If we get within 6 I be thrilled.

Hurlers once we win be thrilled but I'm not confident.

Could be all over this weekend

Rumours in East Cork that Cathal Hickey from Lisgoold has been called into the panel to start wing back tomorrow

Have heard Tim O'Mahony is a close contact and will not be playing. One or two others too apparently.

Kerry will hammer Cork the weekend i cant see it going any other way. The standard in quality will show. Cork will be well beaten. If Cork get close it won't matter moral victories are pointless.

The hurlers are not up to it and will be knocked out of championship this weekend. A dark weekend for Cork GAA ahead.

    I always enjoy your posts.

They are always full of positivity.

Reckon the footballers will give a good account of themselves v the second favourites for Sam.

I think the hurlers will win a close game.

I don't like us losing anything but when we don't even play at all then thats the annoying thing.

Once the footballers play as well as they can that will be ok. This Kerry team is a serious outfit so the longer we can stay in touch will be good. They will pull away in the end though.

As for the hurlers, they played about as bad as they can but only got beaten by 4 points. Dublin will have to play really well and we will have to be crap again to get beaten. We cant be that bad again.....at least I hope not so I expect us to win. They should be coming out with a point to prove us/the critics wrong so I expect and want to see a backlash.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Alan Cadogan isn't even in the 26?

    Wow.

Glad to see Dalton going from the start though

Dalton at ff will be interesting to see how he gets on, will certainly try to make an impression.

    Half forward line though.....ugh.
