Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How did this Derry team make an All Ireland. They are embarrassingly bad.

That doesn't say much for Cavan who they demolished or Dublin who they beat with ease.

I can't see Dublin being as fortunate today as they were in last years drawn final,if they don't register a score of there own until over 30 minutes. Gavin coming out and saying we didn't perform well in last years finals,is more too do with how Mayo on both days really put it up to us and couldn't land the KO punch.

If both teams perform too there full potential today,I think Mayo will run out 3 point winners. Since they got that monkey of there back with the replay win over Kerry,it was a massive psychological boost for them and there going into this final for me in better shape then Dublin.

What a strange thing to say, Benny Coulter was undoubtedly one of the very best players in Ireland for a very long time, I'm not sure exactly what more he could have done as a player?

    No. No he wasn't. :o

Good player, but nowhere near one of the best.

Reckon Dublin hype machine will be put to rest today and Mayo to win by 2 points. Dublin are a good team but not the best team I have seen and can be beaten.

And if Dublin put on a clinic and comfortably dispatch Mayo?

I hope David Clifford is nurtured and looked after. He is an outstanding young footballer and potentially a star of the future,as regards Australia not many have made it there.

Jim Gavin is a decent man but his interviews are painful. He's like a defendant in the witness stand, trying to not incriminate himself.

Always thought the Kerry team of the early 80s was the greatest football team ever however if Dublin win today I think you can say this side will surpass them

Good lord Dessie Dolan in the commentary box

I don't think his footballing style is suited to Aussie rules. A lot of what he does is negated by the ability to tackle a man to the ground in AR.

Could be a sign of Dublin going more direct early on and peppering Mayo's full back line with long balls.

Hearing rumours that Connolly hasn't made the Dublin 26, any truth in this ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 264 ✭✭TheChosenOne_

What are people's opinions on DC warming up in a tank top and not a jersey? Pure mind games or will he be totally excluded today?

You haven't a clue what you are talking about, they were two very different eras, Kerry won 8 All-Irelands including a four and three in a row in an Amateur era. This Dublin team is a team of paid professionals with biased referees aiding them all the ways. Dublin will never equal them, there record is already tainted and history will judge them poorly in the greater run of things.

Joe McQuillan to decide this match, handing it on a gold plate to his Dublin friends. Dublin to win by two controversial points.

Dublin are a better team without him. He's a distraction and a liability in one. The players that replaced him this year have more than filled his boots.

Apart from the middle of the hill the rest of the stadium is mayo
I hope the Dublin team are as complacent as their support
    Mayo by 2

RTÉ commenting on fact he's not wearing a jersey during warm up, just a sleeveless vest top. Only one not in a kit, panelists suggesting Connolly not happy about something, making a statement.

Not many of the Dublin fans are involved in clubs so they wouldn't get tickets. The bandwagoners are all in the pub while the real GAA people got tickets. Good to see.

Dublin by as many as they want.

I'd like Mayo to win but I think they're past their peak and Dublin's bench is far stronger. They've missed their best chances, none more so than last year.
