IFTTT alerts can be used to notify of tweets, might be useful to some.
I've just set it up, seems to alert within about a min or so of a tweet.

I've been going here and there with your tips over the past three days and I am up about 20 points. Just one question regarding your system that has been playing on my mind observing the way the market reacts around some horses you mention, do you ever benefit from a drift in the market?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,386 ✭✭✭mayoman1973

Today: 19 picks, 38 pts staked, returns 30pts, profit -8pts
    Overall: 214 picks, 428pts staked, Bank = +172pts.

Not sure what you mean by benefiting from a drift?  The expectation is that the shorter priced horses are under priced and my systems selections are over priced. Very rarely do I get any BOGs as the SP will have generally shortened but have got some from time to time.  I did try with no success at laying off any horse that I back which subsequently drifted before the off. These ones normally broke even on the win and still made decent profit on the place. So all bets I do now are set n forget.
I have a bot running on Betfair that makes a small profit by laying underpriced favs in some of these races.  Esp ones where there are 3 or more outsiders popping up as having value.  With a market like Betfair which is as close to 100% efficient as you will get any +% profit is hard to come by as lot of sharp punters there. So in those races the theory is if there are 3 or more over priced horses then there must be some under priced ones as well and starting with laying the potentially under priced fav is as good a place as any. That laying system may prove to be a load of B***ix as time goes by or the markets may eventually evolve to close off any value that can be found but after between 3000 to 4000 fav lays it seems to be holding up.

Regarding the drift, I meant you put a horse at, 20/1 yet a while later it is 25/1.

Thanks for the explanation. Keep up the tips.

True, betting on paper is easier. That was me till I proved the system. But now its time to pay the piper and its £££ all the way. As much of it as they will allow. You mentioned more than one horse in a race. I actually made a point of stating this when I posted a tip that I had almost posted every horse in that race. 7 or 8 in fact out of a field of 14. Got the 11.0 winner along with 26.0 placer so good profit. Was an odds on fav in that race as well that obviously was not one of my tips. In simple terms my system can tell if a given horse is there to walk about the parade ring or to race. I monitor exchange markets ( Markets which attract mostly smart money ) which make this pretty obvious. Hint: The win market is NOT one of these markets. When you get a fav that is there just to stretch his legs and start to see some outsiders that indicate they are there to race then this is the perfect storm. Won't get it right all the time but you only need to be right more often than you are wrong.

You tipped 8 horses in a 14 horse race?

yep, I record everything and when I check profits I can see that I actually do better in the races where I have had more than 3 selections. This situation happens when the very strong fav is not at the races (pardon the pun) and markets start pointing towards an outsider. Of course when it goes against me then it hurts the bottom line but this is not a one race strategy.
See grand national this year. At 1pm I had 1 horse done but when the money started moving things by the off I had 22 of the horses done for one of my most lucrative days yet ... Calculated gamble, something like 1 in 1000 chance of total loss, and 1 in 10 of major profit. Ended up somewhere in between.

Right folks, I have just giventhe profit forecast for 1000 bets on twitter. We ahead of target percentage but over the course of 1000 bets that will be corrected . Like it or not. This system does not beat the odds. That is impossible. What it does do is calculates the correct odds and hence the value in a bet. So avg of say 15 per day, that means in approx 50 days I will have about 1000 bets posted. Profit will be 600pts , +/- 40pts.
So by halloween we will have the proof of the pudding ...... Watch this space

Be interesting if you could edit your pick after the race to let us know where the horse came. I know that would be a lot of work for You, but all I'm seeing is lots and lots of selections, and then lots and lots of waffle

Why can't you just check the racing post website for results yourself?
