they'll be a long time paying the 65 million Cork spent on their gaff. any crowd going to a game pays for the rent.

Dublin have not had to fund any major capital project.

they even got the National GAA training centre and gym built for them by the GAA

    Dry your eyes.

Is this the super 8s thread or another Dublin finance thread?

    Its both.
Super 8s won't make much difference to the standard of football. The bigger counties will waltz through them. It won't make inter-county football any more competitive or attractive as a spectacle. People thought having the likes of Dublin and Tyrone in the same group would make for at least one exciting and competitive game. Turns out that won't happen and Dublin will just steam roll them. The Super 8s are a band-aid. Something more fundamental has to happen to address imbalances between big counties like Dublin and smaller counties like Carlow, Longford, Westmeath and the like. Its not Dublin's fault and there's always been an imbalance but in the last few years its got out of hand completely. Its no longer a competitive sport.

Absolutely. And I think the Super8s are a sham and will only make the stronger counties stronger.

Honestly, the championship should revert to knockout and groups and be done with it. No second chances. The league and club is there for game time.

Now where did I say that "counties divert development coaching grant money into paying managers"?

Sorry, i assumed you were talking about the huge amount of money allocated towards games development from central funding. That money was earmarked for games development, it's not as if Dublin Co board could have spent it on infrastructure or paying managers anyway.

Not sure if this has been clarified already or not but wrt Dublin in Super 8's, will they have 2x games in Croke Park (1x 'Home' game, and 1x 'Croker' game) and 1 away game?

Interestingly Mayo will play as many championship games in Croke Park as Dublin this year, five.

Mayo: Roscommon, Roscommon, Kerry, Kerry, Dublin.

Dublin: Westmeath, Kildare, Monaghan, Tyrone, Mayo.

Football Championship thus far is dire to say the least.
No amount of tinkering with Football Championship in the near future will sovle the lobsided results.
Both games Today over as a contest after 20 mins.
Can't blame the top 3 of Dub/Tyr/Ker but the gap is just increasing on everyone else.
Cannot wait until the 2 hurling semi finals Tomorrow.
Minor game between Cats and Galway will be tight with the Senior game impossible to call.
    Hurling to the rescue again.

That ain't the top 3! It never was either.
