Roy Keane. He's a cranky bastard but I've a soft spot for him and I'd say he's sound underneath it all.

    He is.

I've never met him personally, but know a few media types, and John Creedon is meant to be an absolute gent, and a funny fúcker to boot, as the OP suggested. His music show is also the best thing on Irish radio.

Kevin Kilbane is a sound man, and likes his few pints. Always had loads of time for fans when travelling with the Irish squad. Top lad.

Marty Morrissey seems like a sound one. Doesn't take his 'sex symbol' thing seriously at all, and has a great self-deprecating sense of humour.

I get the impression that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a sound skin and I'd love to have a pint with him!

Met him in a pub in Dingle one night and he is just lovely alright. A real gentleman to his fingertips, just so amiable and friendly and nothing put on.

I reckon Jeff Bridges would be sound. I know he will not be like The Dude, but still...

    He is quite!

vincent browne....he's not the typical smiley tv3/rte puppet...he's just who he is. what you're seeing is vincent browne. a lot of the tv stars are likely different people backstage to the ones they portray when presenting. id say vincent is just himself. no bullshiit.

    Vincent Browne is a gentleman.

I agree about John Creedon and Michael Portillo too. They'd be fantastic travel companions. I also have a soft spot for Roy Keane and respect him for his grumpy honesty.
