Anyone else surprised to see the bookies have teams on essentially the same odds for the replay as the draw, i.e 2/1:1/2? Is there any more rationale for this than the old GAA truism that the 'bigger' team always wins the replay?
    Money being placed as well
I've a feeling mayo will Move in slightly as the week goes on

    I can't wait for it.

    Possible changes/switches for Kerry.

Griffin and Morley to switch positions.Barry and Savage to start,if fit Walsh will undoubtedly start.

    Can't see Michael Geaney starting.

Paul Murphy did a Leeroy on Lee Keegan, hopefully Lee can come out on top on Saturday.

Was just reading an article in the Irish News (if you're not familiar with it it's a Belfast based newspaper with very good Ulster GAA coverage). it was about the Tyrone Dublin game, but for some reason in this article and not in a stand alone article there was a great section about ticket pricing and in particular how it's effected Mayo fans.

    http://www.irishnews.com/sport/gaafootball/2017/08/22/news/the-ref-and-the-rain-hold-the-key-for-tyrone-1116756/
    Time to review pricing structures
THERE’S much has been said about the physical and psychological cost to Mayo supporters of enduring their weekly footballing adventures, but not enough about the hit to their pockets.

Like Tyrone in 2005, this may be an exception to the norm in terms of the number of games but across the Championship, it’s cost their fans an average of just under €28 per game to watch their county.

To put that into context, 11 Premier League clubs offer better value than that. And were Stephen Rochford to guide them into the All-Ireland final on Saturday, Mayo fans would be worse off than the supporters of 16 of the money-driven English pyramid’s top clubs, with only Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham charging more for their cheapest season ticket.

A €5 increase in ticket prices for this year’s quarter- and semi-finals didn’t appear a major deal in itself but the big issue is how they plan on dealing with the pricing structure for next year’s Super 8s.

There are likely to be ticket packages to cover each qualifying county’s three games at the quarter-final stage but it’s unlikely that the GAA will sell those games for less than its provincial finals.

It’s equally unlikely that we’ll see a reduction in ticket prices in the provinces. With the semi-final prices now raised and the final set at €80 – which is over-the-top – the cost to loyal fans continues to grow.

And while you could certainly lay claim that the Mayo fans have had value-for-money, they’re very much an exception to the rule.

Thought it might be of interest to you lads here. Give the link a click too. Decent article on referees and the weather.

I cannot see Griffin and Morley switching positions other than perhaps if A O Shea starts at number 11.
Kerry`s main problems at the back last day was no cover and Griffin getting pulled out with Mayo playing two up front with balls into the corners.
I can see them playing a sweeper next day out and Griffin staying at FB.

I can see Barry starting for Maher, and I cannot see M Geaney starting either, replaced by either Savage, O Sullivan or if fit, Walsh.
On the last days performance most likely Savage with the other two waiting in the wings for later in the day.

Sub headline in the sports section of The Kerryman.

"Gough to ref first Kerry game since Buckley tackle"

And they accuse us if being obsessed by refs.

The changes Mayo need to make for Croke Park Success

Thought it was tackle on Crowley that he said he got wrong himself?

There was a tackle on Buckley during the 2015 All Ireland final that Gough let go, a lot of Kerry folk angry about it.

    Seems they still are.

It's not obsession for them. They're just putting wrongs to right as Keepers of the Flame.

The Kerryman is an awful rag altogether in fairness.

Yeah, they'd even named the wrong player in their headline

Whatever about putting Keegan at midfield I can't say I'd put Tom Parsons at centre forward or full forward.Far too effective in the middle of the park.

Switching Aidan in at times could wreak havoc.

    Agreed re Parsons.

Keegan at half forward didn't word for the same reason Parsons at half forward wouldn't work - both prefer to be running from deep into space rather than being a forward with back to goal at times, and a dedicated marker too.

Parsons and Keegan should be the midfield partnership on Saturday. Serious potential there, both forward and back.

Agreed and that would enable Paddy Durcan to come into the half backs too.

Seamie has to be under serious pressure for his place.

I saw talk that Lee was sick coming into the game last week,it could account for his rather anaemic performance by his high standards.Saying that Murphy did a good man marking job on him.

It was one of those occasional days when his radar was off and he was dropping the ball into the goalkeeper's hands.

As long as Aidan O'Shea is nowhere near the Mayo forward line slowing the play down, Mayo will win. Dont think its any coincidence that it was our best forward display of the year.
