Jurrassic part 2 in parts and 3 in general lost the plot a bit but they seemed like Jurassic Park films all the same.
    They were fine.

Jurassic World and this, by the look of things, are just the blandest, by the numbers, corporate goop one could have the misfortune to come across.
It's a waste of Chris Pratt, the phenomenal new technology on offer and the IP to have turned into this generic garbage, on par with the Day After Tomorrow or some Gerard Butler vehicle.

Given Ian Malcolm's return was much publicised I had expected he be part of the actual adventure. Instead it comes off as low effort attempt to shovel Goldblums character into the movie without actually having to include him in location shooting. In fact I'd go so far as to theorise that he'll have 5 minutes screentime, probably around the debate about what to do with the dinos, then another quick cameo near the end on a TV report. Enough to slap him on the promos.

I imagine that we got about 30% of his total screen-time for the movie in that trailer.

I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case.

It makes sense for his character not to be on the island. He spent all of the Lost World telling people to stay away or get off the island.

Agree it will be a small role for marketing reasons

Without over analysing it .......... It looks like dumb action movie fun, which is ok if its good. I wouldnt expect anything more out of it.

Hopefully its a decent popcorn movie. Unlikely to be more than that.

Maybe they just digitally recreated goldblum - Cause they sure as hell didnt give him too many new lines

Im sorry but this looks like absolute pants - just like JW.
I shouldn't really be posting here, I guess this is for fans, but what really annoyed me about JW was this taming the raptors ??? like really WTF?

From the original Crichton novel (I must give it a re-read) the whole idea with the raptors, these were totally cold savage animals - from another world 65 million years ago - not a chance of taming them.

This I felt was an insult to their original "character".

And of course all the mindless action and CGI porn (which isn't enough to impress anymore !!)

In the book they were even worse. They hadn't developed any social skills at all as they were the first generation in 65 million years and had no role models. Their was no hierarchy, just chaos with them. In JW the raptors are just little bitches.

There is nothing in the Spielberg movies that even hints at the idea that raptors would accept a human pack leader or any kind of taming. It's the worst part of JW which is a pretty bad movie anyway.

Wouldn't it have been great if the first act of Jurassic World 2 was Chris Pratt travelling back to the island eagerly anticipating being reunited with his raptor pack. He finally finds them and just as he is about to make contact like in the trailer, they pounce on him like Muldoon in JP and devour him. Cut to Ian Malcolm saying, "yeah well, um, what did he, eh, think would happen?".

I know The Lost World has a pretty bad reputation but aside from a few missteps (the daughter character) it is an action classic when compared to JW.

In fairness lads, it's been pretty much proven that any animal can be tamed with enough effort and cruelty. I suppose "tamed" is the wrong word to choose. Conditioned might be better.

There are tons of problems with Jurassic World. Raptors that didn't instantly eat Chris Pratt because he raised them isn't even touching the top 10.

So sounds like we're dealing with another 'fake' mega-dinosaur? Unless the dialogue has been snipped to imply that mind you; not sure I'm onboard another storyline like that.

Also seems like there might be a few more animatronics too; some of those close-up FX looks very tactile and 'real'.

So, a remake of the last half hour of The Lost World?

The trailer does look good to be fair, but I just no longer have faith in them creating an interesting Jurassic Park/World movie. Blue is a full on side-kick now and there's another made-up killer mega-dino on the loose... meh.

It's gotten to the point where the only way to do something different with the franchise is make a film where the dinosaurs don't actually run amok and start killing people. A "'Velociraptors in the Mist" type movie if you will :pac:

They actually had an opportunity here with the rescue/conservation angle too but oh well...

Yeah they used lots of animatronics. See this video I posted earlier.

At this point (with the way this one looks to be going), the only thing that could make a followup interesting is to go down a Planet of the Dinosaurs or World War Dinosaur route. Huge plot hole there though of how they achieved the numbers to pose a real, long lasting threat to humanity. At least it'd be different.

Maybe they should dust off the bio-engineered half human half dino super soldier script.

I reckon that's what this is. The dinosaur luring of the bed has thumbs.

I think the script i'm referring to had them talking and using guns.

Well that's good news, and you can certainly see the benefit of that decision in the immediate heft of the dinosaurs in the trailer. Hopefully that carries through til the final product (though IIRC, wasn't there supposed to be animatronics in Jurassic World, but the studio nixed it all in post-production?)

It'd actually be kind of cool if they did a movie where people started disappearing and turning up gruesomely mangled, and for people to start thinking it's the dinosaurs doing it. Movie is then about everyone thinking we should kill all the dinosaurs, and Chris Pratt goes to investigate what's actually happening, in order to save them

Looks like the least 'kid-friendly' Jurassic Park movie too.... this one will give kids nightmares for weeks.

Oh dear God no, please leave that $h1t to the Sy-fy channel otherwise they might as well throw in a Jurassicnado in which a tornado scoops up velocaraptors from Isla Nublar and starts dropping them on LA.

    Dinosaurs must have good agents.

I'll be honest; when I see these kind of pre-emptive announcements of sequels or (as it has been lately) Shared Universes, there's a bitter mean-spirited part of me that suddenly wants the first film to fail, if only as proof that one shouldn't count ones chickens n' all that.

I dunno, just seems to suck the joy out of blockbusters if the studio is so brazen that yes, there is going to be a production line of these films.

The newest trailer nearly gave me nightmares and it was just from a single short scene snip, with what I assume is the Indoraptor in the kid's room. I had goosegumps.

I didn't like JW much so I'm not really holding out much hope for Fallen Kingdom. Much more excited for JW Evolution, which comes out this summer I think (it's a game for those of you that don't know).

30 teaser / trailer for the next trailer..

feels a bit more like a trailer...

though it kinda has the film reminding me a little of The Lost World when they are in the city
