    will check.

do you know if you removed the quarter of a million that Smith got for the worlds final, he would be 14th in the world instead of 4th.

    had a quick look.
late 2018, and early 2019 was atrocious for lewis.

on the plus side he is defending pittance, so were he to qualify for events, even making the first rounds he would move up. (in general)
At Ally Pally he is defending 25k from his third round defeat....which is not much.

he has not qualified for the slam, but is not defending anything either. However were he to qualify for the slam via the qualifier, he would earn a minimum 4k even if he finished bottom of the group.

In the players champs he is defending a second round loss of £5k, so he could improve on that.

Cheers. Mightn't be too bad for Lewis so , can't see him qualified for the slam tho. 14th is probably accurate for Smith now. FDI has him at 16th. I really like these rankings, they take everything into account and updated weekly

Crowd booed and shouted when Wade was throwing and took 3 legs before Russ bray opened his mouth.

They did the same when Ratajski was throwing and shouted when the pole had 5 match darts.
one guy in particular kept shouting after been told to shut it and kept it up.

James Wade is now down to 11th in the Order of Merit as of today as the 100k he won for the 2019 European championships has come off.
Were he to win the event today, he would go back in the top 10.

There is a lot of players above him defending big money. between now and January 1st

Smith is defending quarter of a million at the Worlds.
Gerwyn Price defending 110k at the Grand Slam
Daryl Gurney defending 100k from his 2018 Players Champs finals win
Gary Anderson is defending 155k....100k in the 2019 worlds, and 55k as runner up in the 2018 grand slam
Nathan Aspinall defends 100k in the worlds
MVG defends half a million from the worlds in 2019

    These should start climbing:

Wade already lost his 100k, but is defending very little now, and with so many above him defending a lot, he should climb again
    Dimtri is defending pittance also
Durrant defending Zero, so will make the top 10 before he starts defending.

of course were any of the players to win the European Championship, Grand Slam or Players Champs final, it will spin things again.
but those defending little or nothing should be the big movers.

Gurney must be in danger of a significant drop given the form he’s been in lately

gurney has not played well at all this year.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭Justin Credible Darts

whilst price is defending a lot, he is capable of picking up the 100k in the slam, pc finals or the euro champs.

Wade is defending pittance and good enough to make a couple of semis. Chizzy likewise.

Ando is in trouble , and no way is gurney gonna defend that 100k he won on the form he is playing
Smith is playing well, but you know his arse will fall out at some point
    Cross is also throwing muck.
Mensur has stopped the rot but still a whack to defend.

Ross smith just lost but made 5k, is assured of another 6k now as he qualified for the european champs, so a great weekend for him and glad too, he looks like a proper tv player, the opposite to ian white.

another guy like Aaron monk who thought because he won a couple of events he was something special.

Every defeat he has an excuse or cries on twitter.
His last whinge was he was not able to "prepare" for whitlock as he expected a different player.

how does who you are playing alter your game ?
It dont, your darts are still the same weight, you throw from the same distance, on the same board, the rules aint changed.

Dobey has history of excuse making. He boasted after he lost in the PL as a contender, that he had not practiced for weeks and that was his "excuse" that time.

If you know you are going on telly in the PL and you refuse to practice in the weeks prior, then it shows what he is like.

I love seeing that MVG who stands there with his mouth open catching flies get beaten.

He now has lost 2 finals in 8 days, long may it continue. Happy for Cullen too, as it will have bdo mushrooms seething as they have never forgiven joe Cullen for mocking the bdo

had a flick through his twitter, don't really see, or get a sense of that tbh
Seems like a decent sort to me anytime I've seen him interviewed

    he has deleted tweets.

also he used a phrase " preparation shot to bits" 3 times in a month to account for defeats.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,621 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

His posts subsequent to his defeat to Whitlock did smack of sour grapes all right and didn’t really make sense unless he’s got a phobia or is allergic to hippies :)

If it were say a boxing match, or a mma fight I could understand a person having tochange their approach to a new opponent, but in darts you are not doing anything different.

you still have the 3 darts, same rules etc
sounded to me dobey was sulking and let things get to him and then used that as an excuse to mask he was mentally fragile

Des Jacklyn has contacted John o Shea to say if he doesn't return the Masters trophy by Friday there will be legal action.

Who is he returning it since the BDO is no more ?
Should keep it until he can defend it. Some cheek after giving Wayne Warren 23k instead of 100k.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭US2

    From John's management team

"John does not intend to keep the trophy. He would like to one day defend it or at least give it to an active darts body - not deliver it to Des' home address as has been demanded."
The trophy does not belong to Des Jacklyn.

spoke with john weeks ago saying he should not return it, and beside english "law" wont apply here.

    Its a scare tactic.

Even if he got sopme international order to have the irish police remove it, des the liar has to show that he owns it, and if the bdo is no more that could be difficult.

Wayne Warren who woin their mickey mouse world pro, is a different story as whilst in the UK, the world championships technically belong to the WDF not the bdo, as the bdo were only running it for the wdg...running it in to the ground
