I got my hopes up for a minute it was going to be an increased frequency. I'd love if it was more often, going through Lucan village on a C3 can take an age if traffic is bad.

Not directly associated with BusConnects, but which will deliver direct benefits for the bus service at Dundrum through a bus gate on Ballinteer Road and converting part of Kilmacud Road Upper to one way , DLRCoCo are launching a consultation on 3rd June on their active travel DLR Connector project.

They’ve released three videos on YouTube:

It will help benefit the A Spine whatever replaces the 14 and also the L25.

Well it will benefit the 14 (and subsequently the A2 and A4) in particular.

Traffic frequently backs up along the Upper Kilmacud Road from the junction with Dundrum Main Street almost as far as the junction with Sydenham Road, and delays the buses as a result.

Most of that traffic, based on my observations, is through traffic to Barton Road, and not to the village or town centre.

Making Upper Kilmacud Road one way eastbound between Sydenham Road and Overend Way would remove much of that traffic, and the bus gate would change things overall.

That traffic can easily divert via Overend Way, Wyckham by-pass and Ballinteer Road and thus improve the flow of buses through Dundrum crossroads.

Can’t imagine some of it will go through. As much as I’d love it, there’s not a hope in hell the modal filter on Stradbrook Road is actually implemented
