If you have two 22lr licences, then you have two .22lr guns.

You are allowed 100 for one gun and 1000 for the other. Therefore this is 1100 rounds. I don't see it any other way.

    1,100 is right.

However I get where you're coming from.

If you're out with the rifle with 100 on it and have 150 then you're in breach of the conditions of your license. You could say the other 50 are for the other rifle and the other rifle license allows you to have that much (and more) but would a Garda claim that as you don't have the rifle you so for "that" rifle you're in breach of the conditions.

Is that along the lines you're thinking? If so you're not alone. I had this thought years and years ago and started a big debate on the matter and could not get my head around it, and the more i spoke about it the more sense my stupidity made to me.

However there is nothing to say you cannot carry your maximum ammo allowance for both guns, but only use one. You're legally covered by both licenses so I would sweat it.

If you have both licenses on you, you can carry 1100 without any rifle. It is not dependent on you carrying the gun just the license.

I think gun control is a problem. Not the type of guns. License the person, and be able to track where they end up. I think trump was a disaster, Obama a disaster for Europe. Let Russia take half of Ukraine. It wouldn’t have happened under Reagan. I’m not a Democrat or republican, not American none of my business.

From a read the licence allows you to have X rounds in your possession, right?
Nothing about using that particular ammunition in that particular firearm though.
    Example, I have 100 and 1000 in 22lr.
I bring out the 100 round rifle, 200 rounds, but both licences.

Then I am covered for the rifle under the 100 licence, the ammunition under the 1000.

AFAIK it only covers possession of X rounds of ammunition, not the particulars of the gun it is used in, as obviously that'd be insane to try and pull ;)

Never forget, the end goal is zero firearms of any type.

There was no personal abuse, it was a joke. However as you're purposefully trying to provoke a row with me given our history, which I thought was in the past, I'll make it clear for you.

Posting "End of discussion" is akin to demanding someone does not post again, which is a breach of the forum rules (back seat moderation). I did not take it as such, but as you provoke a row then feign insult, offence, it is clear that no matter what I post you will find a way to be insulted and try to "cry foul" via the dispute resolution process and helpdesk.

Even if I were to avoid interacting with you, you have shown you would not do the same and have previously followed me to various threads to provoke yet another row, feign insult, then complain.
I thought mods were to lead by example. Not bully and abuse people when they simply disagree with you.
I've told you umpteen times before, I'm only a Moderator when I post "MOD NOTE" and then follow it with a post in bold font to highlight I'm acting as a Moderator.

The excuse of a "Moderator Bullying you" is a tired one and does not hold water. However it does add to your history of trying to provoke a row and fegn insult/offense.

    So here it is:

    ==============================================================================================

    MOD NOTE

I will discuss this with the other Moderators and will work with them to find a solution to this. As you cannot be allowed to constantly disrupt the forum with false claims of bullying and baseless claims of insult/abuse. It is clear that one of us will have to stop posting in this thread and/or possibly the forum.

I would have preferred to discuss this via PM, however as you seem determined to make this a public issue I'll respect your demand and do this publicly.

This thread is now shut down until a decision is reached. Any attempt by you to continue this on any other part of the forum will result in Moderator action.

    MOD NOTE

This thread is now reopen, please review the following to provide compliance, support and to the betterment of the thread-

How To Be A Better Poster

    Contribute in a constructive way.
Nobody is interested in your laser sharp ability to cut someone down. Nobody is interested in the funny thing your cat did, unless it’s a thread on funny things cats do (basically we mean cut down on the LOLCats). The odd humourous comment thrown into a thread is fine, but consistently contributing nothing but noise/negativity is not helpful. One word answers aren’t useful. Please use the "rate thread" feature to vote on a thread instead of jumping in and posting, 'This subject is silly and pointless.' If you like what a poster had to say, use the thanks system.

Comment on the post not the poster.
Responding to someone's point with personal attacks, regardless of how "witty" you think they are, is not big or clever. It just comes across, at best, as being an ass and at worst a bully with a small doodah (we mean “mind” of course).

It’s much better to stay on the topic of their post, not on the person who posted it. People will respect you for that, take your opinion more seriously, and you put the ball back in their court to answer your points.

Abuse is tantamount to saying, "You have beaten me with your argument; I can only resort to name calling."

If someone abuses you, don’t respond in kind. Report the post and a Moderator will swing by to review it. Abusing them back simply drops you to their level and will probably get you both infracted and/or banned.

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/faq.php?faq=bie_faq
How do I report a post?
Please click on the Report Post button (Report Icon) on the bottom left of the individual post in question (under the name of the member that posted it).

You should report a post when you feel it needs to be brought to a moderator's attention. This could be because it's spam, it's abusive, it's in the wrong place, it's liable to cause a row or that it's intentionally misleading.

Reported posts are brought to the attention of the forum moderators and administrators, who will then consider if the post warrants any further action. All reported posts are recorded and reviewed. They are not responded to individually.

By reporting posts you help keep Boards.ie free of spam, abuse and other not nice things. Thank you for that.

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/faq....how_reportpost

Any deviation to the above Reporting Process will result in Mod action, the process is there to protect members and the forum alike.

This is not open to discussion.

    Murder at the Cottage -
Examining the murder of television producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork, Ireland in 1996.

Very interesting and I belive there is a very detailed pod cast by two English journalists and another full lenght documentary.

I had a some what personal interest in the series as I used to holiday there, just within a mile or so as the crow flies of her house.

Unbelievable that the Frence court case used tainted evidence.

I will reserve judgement as to who is guilty or not, but I 100% believe that based solely on the evidence gathered, including retracted statements, there was never a case for Ian Bailey to answer.
I remember a Gaurd once telling me that they could clear the streets of criminals very easily based on intelligence but hard facts and evidence is what is required in court.

I'm not familiar with civil law here or France , but if it is possible, I'm surprised the Family never took a wrongful death civil action against Baily in regards to financial lean.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,280 ✭✭✭tudderone

What was supposed to be the motive behind that murder ? I did see a lot about it in the media over the years but was never that bothered about it. The only thing that struck me was Bailey should either have been charged and sent for trial or left alone.

    tudderone wrote: »

AFAIK, no real motive was ever offered. Some half baked thories were put in place mafia, previous lover etc, ex husband already paying out alimony- but all were proved unjustified or the other parties involved had an alibi.
During the French trial twenty odd years later a French friend of the victim comes forward to say that Sophie was to met up with a poet.

“She told me that she was going to meet this guy - a poet - to talk to him about his work. She said he was a ‘weird guy’ and I advised her that she should not meet him if he was weird.”
Ms Thomas said Ms Toscan du Plantier did not name the man she was due to meet.
Ms Thomas said she had blanked out this conversation with her friend due to the shock over her murder but she recalled it in 2015 when she began working with Association for the Truth about the Murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier
    Barry Roche 2019

Baily, a poet, denies ever meeting her in real life.

It’s all bluff and bluster by Russia, they’re impotent and 25-30 years behind the west in radars, and engine technology. They couldn’t touch the hms defender in Crimea, because that and the two other destroyers one was an Arleigh Burke class destroyer (aegis radar a few miles outside the territorial waters) can track and shoot down hundreds of aircraft and missiles simultaneously.

Here’s a link to a decent balanced peace on the Crimea passage.
