Finished Broken last week. Despite being very grim I really enjoyed it.

Well maybe you’re not as grim as you thought then! :)

Without knowing another thing about this movie bar what you just typed peteeeed, I'm going to out on a limb and estimate Willis does all his scenes separate to the rest of the narrative & cast (maybe in a military office by that cover), with that classic, latterday performance, most charitably described as 'disinterested'

He does, but the same can be said for Nicholas Cage, yet Cage happily leans into the garbage and just has some fun. Willis comes off like the most curmudgeonly, unprofessional a$$, the archetypical fallen star too insecure to loosen up.

Bruce Willis is a poor man's Nicolas Cage these days.

In fairness Cage did star in the insane Mandy recently!
I cant remember last time Willis was in anything genuinely good.
He definitely comes across like a grumpy git, the one show interview was a highlight!

I know Cage had some massive tax bill as well.

Quite liked Willis in the rebooted Death Wish movie from last year.

I don't mind that some actors churn out generic movies at a rate. Viewing is optional. Bruce's buddy Sam Jackson has been doing it for years!

He's been such a disappointment since The Pianist, one of my favourite movies.

I'll see you Adrian Brody, and raise you a John Cusack: from something of an indie darling with a decent CV, now only found in the very bottom of the 'straight to video' barrel. Mind you, I would have said the same of John Malkovich, but his star has risen a little over the last couple of year.

I don't mind churn either, but you compare with someone like Cage who gives 100% every production, no matter how sh*tty the material is, yet Willis' performances are like someone who really, really doesn't want to be on set.

Havent seen Glass yet, but Im guessing Looper was probably the last decent show he was in.

I went into The Umbrella Academy sure I wouldn't like it at all, as im generly not a fan of Superhero stuff but loved it. Really good series. Well acted and a cool soundtrack.

    Well worth checking out

Another recommend for The Dirt, good fun and some great lines. “Other bands raised hell because they thought that’s what they were supposed to do. Mötley Crüe did stupid things because they were Mötley Crüe.” Finishes a bit abruptly but it was good enough for me to check out the book after. Read the film, then fill in the details and the after story with the book!

Brody was good in Peaky Blinders I thought, would like to see him get some more roles like that. Wouldn't have pegged him as someone who's declined to Bruce Willis levels just yet.

I think Cusak had a bit of a falling out/rant about Hollywood, nose dived since then.

He also look to be writing and involved in activism.
Love and mercy was excellent but that was 5 years ago

"He's aging out of rom-coms" is the main thing on that list. Studios couldn't give a **** if he writes a book about Snowden, but he can't play "quirky romantic" any more.

Finished The Dirt last night. Loved it, thought it was way more fun than other music biopics, including Bohemian Rhapsody and Straight Outta Compton. OK, none of the actors in The Dirt held a candle to Malek as Freddie, but a movie about MC is never going to be Oscar material.
Easy watching, solid fun with a few tug on the heart strings moments.

This more or less summed it up for me, it was made in the style true to what i take Motley Crue to actually be, in it for the fun and fame and ultimately a little lacking in depth.
On balance its worth the watch, but I had no urge to go and listen to Motely Crue the day after!!

Wrapped up Safe last night, it's been knocking around for a while now. Good show, it's always moving and new clues appearing which keeps the viewer engaged.

Good twists along the way as well.

I thought it was really poor. silly plot and decidedly average acting.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Anyone got a recommendation for a good crime drama? I've finished everything I can see on Netflix on the moment.

Delhi Crime is a hard watch by the way, but worth it in the end.

Have you seen Fargo? It's excellent. Ozark also very good.
