The main difference between the Cody and Connolly incidents is that the 4th Official went towards Cody first and pushed him back. You can actually see Cody saying "Don't push me!". However Cody does lay a hand on the 4th official and pushes him with the same sort of force that Connolly did. A 12 week ban should apply (not that it matters with KK out of the championship).

Those posters of a younger vintage, those that have grown up watching Kilkenny dominating the hurling landscape, perhaps you found that difficult to take but trust me, if over the next few years Cork have even 10% of the success Kilkenny have had over the last two decades you'll quickly learn the true meaning of insufferable arrogance

As insufferable as some Kilkenny supporters became you could always take a deep breath and think...just imagine if it was Cork winning every year. :D

Clare V Tipp will be a great game. Waterford V Wexford not so much

It's a soft All Ireland because kk are out....

All of arrogant Cork are on social media saying is their All Ireland.....

This thread really is comedy gold sometimes.

Great win for both the minor and senior Cork teams yesterday. Both were fully deserved. I cant ever remember such a crowd being in for the start of the minor game. I also cant remember a bigger Cork crowd to travel to Thurles, bit disappointed in the numbers from Clare if I'm honest.

The minor team are seriously good and certainly in for contention for winning it outright, Galway probably are up there too.

The seniors are still 3rd in my opinion, behind Tipp and favourites Galway. A lot of people thought and expected more from Clare but I didn't. I think Tip will blow them away as they are a bit limited and Tip have found their mojo again.

Wexford v Waterford should be a bit closer but I expect Waterford to pull through. Their win against a bang average Kilkenny team was harder than it should have been but will give them great confidence because of its significance.

You are missing the point completely. The 80 year olds in question would have had the option of watching it on RTE - they wouldn't have had to go to Semple.

89 as in 1989 re live matches before then is the point I'm making

Re. your comments on Galway's League performance - you neglected to mention that they failed to win promotion.

I wouldn't have that as a black mark against them. For an experienced team like Galway, playing in 1B is not much of a drawback. If anything it probably benefits them.
    No relegation dangers.
    Guaranteed quarter final spot.
2 reasonable standard games and 3 turkey shoots allows them to experiment as much as they like.
Conditioning etc can be tailored to "peak (league peak)" two months later than the 1A sides.

I am heavily involved in club hurling in Dublin and the county board couldn't give two fcuks about hurling, you are aware that there is a full round of club fixtures this weekend in Dublin, has that ever happened for football, like hell it has!

Do you not find it strange and very convenient that there wasn't a mig out if anyone from Dublin until the next day and tickets were already sold so nothing could be done, my own opinion is that this was a statement made to affect any future decisions and had very little to do with the incident at hand, a bit like the Connolly incident and Gavin trying to influence future decisions.

Fair play to Duignan last night called this out for exactly what it was.

    Teams left in AI
Galway have done all asked of them so far bigger tests await.Big physical team with more than joe canning scoring.Appear to be able to handle 15v15 and sweeper system.
Tipp hammered a brutal dublin team things must be in total disarray when they didn't afford westmeath the courtesy of a home game in Mullingar.Might have been a lot tighter in Mullingar.
Cork are free scoring but are conceding a lot as well.Tipp at sixes and sevens,Waterford 3 month break didn't help them.Clares tactics or lack of were crazy if not foolish.
Waterford caught cold against Cork, did exactly what was needed against a diabolical Offaly side.Had kk beat all ends up and reverted to type in last ten minutes allowing kk force extra time.
Wexford still on a high from beating kk will get great motivation from Davy for Waterford game.
Clare where do they go from yesterday still in the game with ten to go but tactics cost them dearly.

Either tipp or Waterford should they win will be straining to get at cork either in the semi or the final.
It's die dog or ****e a licence time from here on in.

No Imagine they will play Cork

Tipp/Clare and Wexford win- Tipp/Clare vs Galway, Wexford vs Cork

Clare and Waterford win- Galway vs Clare, Waterford vs Cork

Tipp and Waterford win- draw too see who plays Galway and Cork

No. Likewise if Tipp beat Clare they can't play Cork so if both win it will be Cork/Wex and Galway/Tipp..

Yes a limited Clare team who scored 1.20, hit the woodwork twice and hit 15 wides without ever really getting into the game.
Despite Corks superiority the game was nearly levelled at the end of normal time.
The new arrogant Cork support is a joy to behold, one positive ti draw from the new fantastism around the Perkin Warbecks is that the Cork beaches were empty of scobes for the entire day as they were busy showing off their tats in Liberty Square.

Hillarious how everyone hops on the anti-Cork supporter bandwagon now.
And for those complaining like a load of kids about Nash enjoying the win, no wonder he was so worked up.

So annoying when you hear people giving out about players celebrating on the field when they win etc.

More than entitled to, such bitterness from supporters of other teams.

Cork should take huge comfort from this, its a real sign that you are back at the top table when the begrugery starts.

    I never left it. :)

In fairness, it is good to see the confidence back in the Rebel county at least for the hurlers anyway.

Probably should have said tactically limited Clare team , but anyway.

Also less 'tats' :pac: on the beaches because about 2500 Corkonians were watching the table topping Cork City win again down the Cross. You see, we are good at more than sport in Cork, unlike some counties out there;)

Tis great being back lads :D

well the Clare lads were busy lashing every ball they could get their hands on into the crowd so why not some lad behind the goals...

gas that that's what they tried to do to combat the puck out rather than actually doing the obvious thing which was to go man to man and not allow about 3/4 Cork lads free to receive the ball inside their own 45...

If Tipp and WD both win, wouldn't Tipp play Cork because WD met Cork at a later stage so should avoid them again for as long as possible?

I could see the idea behind it. The Cork half forward line, particularly Lehane did savage damage in the two games against Tipp and Waterford. They wanted to withdraw and cut down the space around midfield. It's a naive, negative tactic and only achieved in inviting too mush pressure. The tactic gave Cork an easy out to hit the ball directly into Cadogan and Horgan where they both played well. Clare's full back line didn't play well and were not able to cope with the shear volume of ball Cork were able to hit inside with ease. What's particularly annoying for a Clare's point of view was we didn't even change it. Not even try a 10 minute man to man spell to see.

I'm only speculating but it has all the hallmarks of Donal Og Cusack.

The logic was fine. But when it doesn't work you make the obvious changes.

It was very frustrating to watch.

Pretty certain that recently played doesn't come into it. Both have played cork in this championship,so in the described scenario a draw would take place
