Seeing how much fun yesterday was has me seriously toying with the idea of going for one on Solstice Day next year.

well done Alek , mighty stuff

Fair play, doing ridiculous stuff on bikes is brilliant.

Let it sink in, put your feet up and enjoy the feeling that months of planning, stress and working out all the tiny details have come together with a s#hitload of prep rides have come together.

That's what exactly I'm trying to do today. Yet somehow I can't feel it this way, behind the satisfaction of completing the biggest challenge I ever undertook, there lurks a void I will need to fill soon... with another one. Ah, joys of existence.

But sh*t, I've set the bar really high this time.

Apologies but I can't think of the name of the Boardsie who did it a few years ago but sweet Jesus, one ascent and descent of it will do me for life.

Jebus nearly 30hours in the saddle that's some commitment I can see why he went for the shorter sharper ascent the second time around. e

Fantastic achievment Alek - well done. All those hours, days, weeks of training obviously paid off.

Any plans to pick up any of the Hells 500 gear as a memento? Do they give you a discount, it seems pricey!

Whats the thinking behind adding the derailleur arm?

And serious Qudos Alek, great effort, well deserved entry in the Hall of Fame!

This is chain tensioner, needed to, erm, keep the chain tensioned in bikes with vertical dropouts :)

Or Alek could cycle up Howth a gazillion times in a row for no reason. Only a head case would do that ;-)

Not sure that hill would be suitable from Sutton side... kinetic gain.
