My switch was gathering dust so I decided to give FIFA a go as it's only 20 quid on the eshop and my god is it addicting in hand held mode I can't put it down. Played almost 50 online matches already and can't wait for the switch to be charged to go again.
Has there been any rumours about Pro Evolution Soccer coming to the switch? That would be mint.

Haven't heard about PES but from what people have said from e3, Fifa 19 on Switch is a big improvement.

Really enjoying Fortnite so far, not managed to do better than 4th place, but enjoyed it immensely. The sniper only mode is great too!

If so, are you at any disadvantage due to a worse draw distance etc or is it identical?

Haven't played it but have read that it will be free to play later in the summer. Will be a more bare bones version that's free though

Yep, I've heard that there's nothing behind a paywall though. You can unlock everything from playing the free version, but it will take a long time to unlock all 34 heroes.

I'm enjoying it so far, probably played about 30 games or so. Games take about 5 mins a piece. There's a massive selection, almost overwhelming selection really, of heroes at the start. There's 4 or 5 categories (like healers, frontline, defense etc) and each hero belongs to one or the other. Each hero has certain skills, that can be modified (like making your dash attack faster, or have it recharge another special) and you can have 4 or 5 different presets per hero for these. I've only touched on about 4/27 heroes, but there's a massive amount of extras for them, like skins, voices etc. Nothing that makes the heroes better, per se, but it's very customisible.

In terms of gameplay, it works quite well. It's 5v5 TDM or Capture the Point, and there's some Siege mode I've not touched on yet. Ranked doesn't unlock until you have 14 heroes and are level 15 (I'm level 5, so it takes a while to get there)

You can pay for a battle pass. Each *season* or what not has a level. You play, you gain XP, you go up a level. With each level, you get a bonus. With the battle pass, you get more bonuses. It's about a tenner for it, and each season seems to last for about 60 days or so.

Overall, I'm enjoying it. It's quick to load, games and nice and fast, and I've not experience any lag. There's a lot of learn on it. I'm picking one style and focusing on that hero for a while, but there's various quests etc that give you incentive to try other types of hero. It will be F2P soon, and I'm sure you can buy the founders pack at that time too, but I definitely think it's worth some time.

Got it and am really enjoying it. Apart from one thing, when you pick team death match it is a lucky dip because sometimes you get put in a capture the point game which I find really annoying.

I bought my first game via a Nintendo account set up in a different country last night - Hollow Knight. Cost me about €10 via the South African store. Initially set up a Mexican account as the price there was a few euro cheaper but payment options were an issue.

Looking forward to getting stuck into the game, don't like difficult games particularly but having completed some tricky ones in the past (DS and DS2) I think I'll muddle my way through with the help of guides when necessary!

Anyone finished Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze? I just did today and got a

medallion

. Is it worth going through all the levels to try and get the others? Also, when you are at the level selector you see an icon for the puzzle pieces, the Kong letters and a DK icon (top left hand corner). I'm cool with the puzzle pieces and the Kong letters but what is the DK icon? I can't seem to get it to light up? At the very end when you hit the roulette barrel I hit it when DK was showing for that level but it still did not light up after?

I think it's for the time trial. Was in the WiiU version anyway, as far as I remember.

Yes, the DK symbol is for time trials. You need to at least earn a bronze medal for it to light up. I don't know if you can watch replays on the Switch, but on Wii U you can click on players who've got the top gold times and watch them play through the level. It's really impressive watching them almost glide through levels in near perfection. Silver is as good as I can manage.TBH, I don't try that hard, once I medal that's good enough for me.

I'm still not finished that game. Currently losing life after life on the boss at the end of the 4th island. Tough as hell but very enjoyable.
