The update for that game (out today) adds an easy mode, a beast mode (unlocked after beating the game), quicker load times, checkpoints during boss battles, and some bug fixes.

Might be time to grab it - I really like the look of it.

I have it and I completed it. I really liked it but at points I found it CRAZY hard, especially in one player mode! I had to get my brother to join in to defeat the final boss! I love the animation, the music, the extras. Was well worth it even at full price IMO!

    Cheers,

They are including easy mode in the next update this week.

Might grab it when it does go on sale so.

Edit: Mr E beat me to it.

Started playing Golf Story earlier this week. Can't put it down, excellent game to play in short bursts.

Great to see there is an update for it ;-)

God my switch is gathering dust, nothing coming out that even remotely excites me. was sold a console promising AAA games on the go and at the start that happened but now it seems like an indy saturated system which i have no interest in (much like vita became). when AAA games do eventually release they are charging way too much for a watered down version, plus no cloud save function yet and no decent online system makes me wonder is the hype train for the switching selling this system more then the games themselves?

I really hope things pick up at e3, maybe cloud streaming games like with resident evil 7 will be the way to go?

Would people reccomend banner saga or steamworld heist for commuting?

I'd definitely recommend The Banner Saga. Playing it on my commutes since it came out :)

Just bought SW Heist last night with the discount, seems like a good one for it.

Like add Banner Saga to the list!

Mine has gone this way too. Started so incredibly promising. I'm sure it will improve again, but there is nothing I'm looking forward to like I was BOTW or SMO. Wolfenstein is the only game I see myself buying for it in the next few months.

I'm playing tons of stuff on it, but not AAA at the moment.
Mostly it's the indie titles getting an airing.
Doom too, it's pretty amazing on the Switch, and that game is always worth another play through.

I haven't been using mine as much lately due to work/exams/sports but I'm still playing a bit every week. I've burnt myself out on Zelda (70 hours in with two Divine Beasts dead) and completed Mario, still have Bayonetta 1&2 to start as well.

What I am finding though in the little time I do manage to play I'm getting in a few minutes with Shovel Knight, Steamworld Dig and Golf Story. If I didn't have the Switch I doubt I'd be gaming at all and just wasting time on Boards :pac:

I've gotten my money's worth out of the system already so I won't be complaining :)

Really looking forward to Dark Souls though!!

I have not gone crazy crazy buying games but since I got it on launch day there has never been 3 or 4 days straight it has not been turned on! Since getting Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze it's with me on the LUAS every morning for the 30 minute commute. Before that it was Wulverblade. Splatoon 2 still continues to be my absolute favourite and I want to play this online each and every day. This has been at the expense of ARMS which has not hooked me at all. Mario Odyssey of course is always there to hop in and out of again to get those extra post game moons. Now and again I take a trip to Hyrule to complete a few more side quests after the main game. I have DOOM to look forward to at some stage down the line and Mario Tennis Aces once I get Donkey Kong finished so overall I'm a very happy Switch camper!

    Cheers,
    M

I've bought the following on cart

    Zelda
    Mario Odyssey
    Mario Kart
    Binding of Isaac
    Fire Emblem
    Xenoblade

I didn't like the last three so traded them into GameStop and got

    Bayonetta 1&2
Red Dead Redemption 2 (pre-order for One X)

    I've also bought these digitally

    Steamworld Dig
    Oxenfree
    Golf Story
    Shovel Knight
    Stardew Valley

Next ones to buy are Octopath Traveller and Dark Souls. I'm tempted to get Donkey Kong and Splatoon as well. I'll probably get Fifa 18 while it's on sale.

I think Dark Souls could well be the next game I sink a vast amount of time into, though I fear if I finally start Skyrim that could be it for me and everything else for the rest of the decade.

I've started a new character in Bloodborne recently and it's such a good game. If I enjoy Dark Souls half as much I'll be happy :)

I was actually just thinking the yesterday what would my Top 5 games of this generation be and came up with these in no particular order.

    Bloodborne
    Odyssey
    Ori and the Blind Forest
    Breath of The Wild
    Cuphead

For others thier list will be way different but I had so much fun playing these I can't look past them.

Without causing an avalanche of lists, never a good thing, I would be in agreement of three of those, Bloodborne is just sublime, the first best reason to own a PS4 and it remains possibly the most interesting exclusive on the system to this day.
Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey are so good they are bonkers good.

My son loved Cuphead and it's such a work of art.
    I haven't played Ori though.

I'd probably include Dark Souls 3 and Titanfall 2, the latter having the very best single player FPS campaign I've played in years.

Hopefully the E3 will bring some real treats to the Switch, Smash Bros doesn't interest me in the least.

I've Splatoon 2, Mario and Zelda. But working through my backlog anyway (though currently sidetracked to Prince of Persia replay). Will see what's announced at E3. Since mine is always docked, I tend to get multiplatform games on PC or PS4.

I really need to try Titanfall 2(got it cheap)

I haven't played Dark Souls 3 yet but I do own it. I didn't include shooters otherwise I would have had to put Overwatch on my list :pac: I did really enjoy Titanfall 2 though.

Hopefully, if Dark Souls works well and sells well we might see the rest of the trilogy make it to the Switch, especially how the 3rd game mitres well with the original.

Switch Firmware 5.1.0 came out overnight. Just stability stuff, no new features.

Was following a link someone put up for something else, which lead to an unboxing of the "Dockless Switch" from Japan. Might have missed an earlier mention of it here, been pre-occupied, but I guess with the Pokemon announcements earlier in the week and this, that's the official death of the 3DS. RIP, lil' buddy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,401 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Yeah it exists but Japan only and they say there are no plans to bring it west.

Of course, contrary to some beliefs, the world is round so they could just go East to get it to America and Europe

I would really like an enhanced New Star Soccer on the Switch

Think it would be really good fit

Can we just assume everything will be a good fit on the Switch?

The amount of times I hear that phrase. :D

ARMS is a good laugh too, especially if you liked Wii Boxing type games.
