I can't get on to the shop this evening, just saying unable to display page. Possibly heavy server load due to the event?

As well as picking up a couple of games today, I asked about Switch in Smyths and Gamestop in Blanchardstown. They've loads of stock. Gamestop just the grey. Smyths have plenty of the grey and neon. Strange because their site page says they don't have any. But she told me and I seen them myself behind the counter. When you look at the US where they're very hard to buy but we've got the exact opposite situation.

Gamestop and Smyths were restocked with consoles and copies of Zelda yesterday and today, respectively. Up until yesterday Gamestop's map for copies for Zelda showed it was sold out in all but 3 stores. It's not scientific, I know. I just know I waited 10 days for Smyths to have stock for the console and Zelda on their page to get their bundle today.

The splatoon 2 testfire highlights to me that nintendo are planning to charge money for the exact same service as on wiiu.

Considering I had a good whine about the WiFi on my Switch, my Splatoon seemed to work well, disconnected twice at the start but after that it was fine....

Interesting little game, not sure long term would it get old quick though...

Might start off like that but as long as the money is invested into the online service, it should get better. Look has drastically improved Playstation Online was once they started charging for it. When it was free, it was awful, but a year after they introduced the PS+ charge, it was as good as the Xbox offering.

P2p is always going to be p2p though.

Nintendo Switch “vertical” mode found in Neo-Geo games—are more coming?
Would go a long way towards preserving arcade classics' aspect ratios.

Do they not have game settings to set the aspect ratio when playing on tv? The above is a piss poor way of playing arcade games tbh.

Odd that the system being shown is the NeoGeo, which is 4:3 horizontal monitor for every game.
Sure it's one of the things about the Aero fighters sequels, vertical shumps on a non Tate system.
Now Raiden DX on the other hand, let's have that!

Guess I'm spoiled by having the real deal, not a chance I could play any shmup with those controls on that size screen. :o

If I set up a profile for my nephew on the Switch, he'll be able to start a new game of Zelda without affecting the save on my profile, right?

I've had no problems with the Switch on any front until yesterday. Now the Wifi network connection is gone to hell. Not sure if it is Splatfest related or not, but I also can't get onto eShop or set up a new account for my imaginary american friend. Maybe Ninty is onto me and my nefarious plan to get Binding of Isaac early. :(

I had the same issues which were solved by rebooting the machine. Given that it can spend most of its time on standby rather than fully powered down, probably good to do it every now and then.

How is this done!? Just hold down the power button until it reboots or is there a way to do it from the OS?

    Thanks,
    M

Hold down the power button and you are given the power options. Just select restart.

To power down the switch completely you need to hold the power button for 5 seconds then you'll get power options.

If they get Pokemon and Monster Hunter on it, who knows how well if could sell? If the next big Pokemon game is a Switch exclusive, it'll shift a hell of a lot of them.
