So do the Browns cut Osweiler and take the cap penalty or keep him?

They have plenty of cap space so his contract isn't a problem for them. I'd imagine he will compete for the job with whoever else they may bring in or RG3 if he stays there

We don't have a fifth so if we could squeeze one for Tony or trade 20 for 28 I'd be happy ...

We can still do a June 1 release if we don't get a pick but we should try to get something for him

I agree he'll not be in silver and blue but we've got to see how this plays out

The Osweiler trade increases the chances of Romo being traded to Houston rather than being released as a free agent. Houston now have the cap room to take on his contract I'd imagine. Must be a done deal with Romo

I'll say one thing - it's refreshing to see a GM hold his hands and up admit a mistake. Smith was ludicrous to give Osweiler that contract, but it's not often you see a GM pull the plug on a failed experiment so soon, especially one that was so high profile. Most GMs would double down and try stack the offence to give Osweiler more of a chance, persevering with a rubbish quarterback out of spite and stubbornness.

This free agency is absolutely insane.

Larry Warford to the Saints and Levy has been cut :(. Hope he may come back.

If we lose JC Tretter, TJ Lang and Cook this free agency and don't pick up anyone then Thompson needs a slap in the face.

Market mustn't have been what he was expecting, basically backing himself with 1 year deal

As bad as he has been he may still be an upgrade for our o-line

So the Browns have 7 picks in the first 4 rounds of this years draft and 6 picks in the first 4 rounds of next years draft

Micah Hyde gone now too although I'm not too worried about that.

Edit: only after seeing what we paid Perry after one brilliant season and a number of injury hit ones.

Cook, Lang are vital. I think we will pick up a corner, hopefully not house

The Browns have been winning off seasons for years. This is their Superbowl.

Until we get a QB nothing will change. It looks like they're gonna ship a boat load over to NE for Jimmy G and i doubt he's the answer. Although i obv hope i'm wrong.
Even if they shipped all the picks for Cousins. I wouldn't think he is the answer.

Passing on Wentz last year still hurts at the moment.

House is better than any CB currently on the roster, depressing as that is

Browns are planning to trade or cut Osweiler!! Hilarious, very similar to a basketball trade where a team just trades away a bad contract to a team with cap space.

Surely theres some rule about essentially just buying picks

I don't see why there would/should be. If they've kept plenty of cap space then they should be able to use it as they wish.
