He will be president for 8 years, he said...

Just sat through this. Here are some of the quotes I find interesting:

"I don't think the American Public is concerned with my tax returns. I won."

His lawyer talking about the business plan:

"No one was as concerned about Nelson Rockefeller's business interests."

"The conflicts of interests laws don't apply to the President and Vice President."

All business assets will be in the Trust.
No new foreign deals during his Presidency.
New domestic deals are o.k. after rigorous vetting. "President Elect Trump will only know of a deal if he reads about it in the paper or sees it on television."

I like this: "We're building a wall between the Trump Organization and the Presidency."

He's creating a 'chief compliance council', new to the organization. Kind of shocking they didn't have that before - every big company I worked for had one (in the US.)

Can't have a blind trust because... it'd be hard. And the media'd keep him honest.
And a weak defense using hotel rooms as an example of a non-emolument; but he'll give his foreign gov't profits to the treasury. They are emoluments.

    Back to Trump:
Rex Tillerson and Jeff Sessions were "brilliant." "We have one of the great Cabinets ever put together."

This was in response to a question about whether the Cabinet is full of conflicts. "I want to bring the greatest people into government."

Picking on China and Japan... And Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer about Obamacare. "They own it right now." That'd be Congress I suppose. Simultaneous repeal and replace, "On the same day/week/hour." "Very complicated stuff." "We're going to get health care take care of."

"Obamacare is the Democrats problem. We're going to take the problem off the shelves with them, we could sit back and let them hang with it." "It will cost less and be better."

Companies will have to pay a 'border tax' if they move their factories/etc. overseas.
96 million is the 'real number' of unemployed. And Mexico will pay for the wall.
The hyperbole is ... well, it's the President's style.
2 weeks post-inauguration for the Supreme court nominee.
"Information that was false and fake and never happened. Buzzfeed's a failing pile of garbage. They're going to suffer the consequences."

Someone from Buzzfeed's in the audience asking to ask a question. Trump: "No, I won't take a question from you."
Now he's deriding Lindsay Graham. Amazing.
BBC: "would you consider your position if this is true." Trump:"It can't happen."
90 days to a 'major report on hacking defense.' Now deriding the DNC about blaming the victim. "It's very unfair that my meeting with Intelligence was written about."
"Russia will have greater respect for our country with me leading it."
And he keeps bring up Hillary.

"China has taken total advantage of us economically and in the south china sea."
"All countries will respect us far more."

And at the end, he says, "You're fired."

    Terrifying

    I enjoyed that.

He is some spoofer, Amerika is ****ed. I love how he just slated the whole IT security industry in the US which is one of the leading hubs for that Industry. He is definitely putting a major wedge in US China relations which is not clever at all.

I hope the News outlets that he has turned on now take the gloves off and really go for his jugular.

Putin must be laughing his hole off watching that farce of a conference.

How would that be different than the last number of months?

Journalism is poor. Not one journalist raised the issue of North Korea and China. Trump mentioned China numerous times when he talked today. If they had brains at all they would know this issue will be a major news story in the coming months.

From the NYT rolling feed: 'Mr. Trump reiterated his description of the report printed by BuzzFeed as “fake news,” saying he did not think President Vladimir V. Putin had compromising information about him or the Republican Party. “I’ll be honest, if he did have something, he would have released it,” he said.'

That is very different from saying 'there is nothing to be had.'

I just told you the GOP has control. The GOP is NOT going to turn against Trump now the party has power. Are people really that deluded or naive?

Are you aware that you're beloved Trump has accepted that the Russians hacked the DNC to influence the election?
Don't care to be honest. She had to be stopped from taking America to another war. She was well on her way to doing so.

Fantastic press conference by Trump, CNN is awful.

Do you know what it is? He is totally devoid of dignity. He is living proof that money can't buy you class. Imagine him trying to give that speech near the end of Independence Day. He lacks poise and gravitas. I wouldn't follow him into battle.

He went on a good bit there about the hacking, admits it was "probably Russia" who hacked the DNC. Interesting, that would be proof that Putin helped his campaign if true

I am amazed though that he is so angry about the Russian and Chinese hacking the US. Does the US not engage in any hacking itself ?

Remember journalists, be nice to Trump or he will ignore you.

I think we can safely say that press conference was unpresidented

He did not accept regular intelligence briefings as he believed himself smart enough. If he doesn't get briefed, then he won't know or won't have the opportunity to ask questions to educate himself.

Also, I expect the President of the US to be able to conduct a press conference without relying on lawyers.

The closest don comes to a free press is the kind you put your trousers in in one of his hotel rooms.

Looks like Trump will spend most of the next 4 years wasting time and energy in areas other than running the United States

This must be heartbreaking for Radiohead fans when they click into this thread. :D

The likes of CNN and Buzzfeed, who knowingly run false news stories don't deserve much respect.

I was referring to the unverified buzz feed publication earlier today regarding the golden shower. Not the actual dossier mccain brought to the head of the FBI.

So do you agree that CNN were right in their reportage and anyone trying to dismiss it as fake news is just attempting to attack free press.

Such as? Also as opposed to which sited that you prefer? Or even the amount of fake news that the Donald has used himself.

Trump has been very active attempting to discourage any press that does not agree with him which is incredibly dangerous. Especially with the amount of times he has been wrong already and he was absolutely certain while insulting all the people who disagreed (and were right).

Didn't CNN put up a picture of the recent shooter in America as being more white than he was? That is pretty fake.

You're right. What you're saying is pretty fake…

Although CNN has published several videos about the incident, there is no record of either photograph airing on the network. A report from the Daily Beast also found that these images never appeared on CNN.

Furthermore, the man pictured in this photograph is not the same Esteban Santiago connected to the Florida shooting, but rather a different man with the same name who was registered as a sex offender in Florida.

    No, thats a lie!

You obviously missed the followup apology which is how fake news generally works.

I responded to a comment about the respect or lack of, for the "free press" and there spreading of fake news, not the actions of an individual.
