Same here. Shipped on Jan 10th, arrived yesterday. No dates on the post mark so I don't know when it actually shipped or where its been. Getting really fed up of the delays from China now, and have stopped buying anything from there unless it's a necessity or can't be found elsewhere.

So An Posts tactics are winning :(

I've also been doing the same. If the postage and markup hasn't been extortionate I've been getting my stuff from Europe or the US.

Lots of orders arriving this week, all placed around mid February. Must be getting through the backlog.

I got word from the missus back home that ''some sort of box of tools'' arrived via the postman today. I've been at work since 8 am and wont be home until midnight so I'm very excited :D

I presume its' the watch tools kit I ordered back in January and which was refunded to me. I have lots of old watches, some antique ones too. Basically lots of nice watches. Some need batteries and some I'd just like to peek inside. A tool to open the case at the back etc properly is badly needed.

I'll get home and have a look. Now being an honest person and feeling very good about myself the way I am, and not wanting to change this; if the toolkit is as described, not a con made of cardboard and not broken etc, I'll let them know it finally arrived and pay up . Its not that small businesses fault that the thing was stuck in an Irish airport at customs for 2 months ( according to the tracker)

It turns out the watch tool kit is top quality and exactly as described ( unlike the postal service)

It looks identical to this one

I've been waiting 88 days for a package from China. 70 days for a few more things. I was going to get a refund but i didn't bother because this has never happened before. 5 or 6 packages , it's very unusual for all of them not to show up. I'm getting fed up at this stage. This hasn't happened last year.

Have had lots of stuff delivered this week that was ordered in Jan/Feb/March. It seems whatever the problem was might be sorted hopefully, we'll probably never find out what it was anyway:confused:

My postman is going to give me grief when I meet him in the local:)

It is understood An Post is now looking at several possibilities for the future of the service. These are believed to include the closure of over 400 rural post offices, the closure of two temporary sorting centres in Dublin, and the downsizing and the possible closure of two of An Post’s four sorting centres as the company looks to parcel deliveries for increased revenue.

Had to clear them out before they could close them

That's not the point. The point is why does it the post mysteriously get to most countries quickly but to Ireland (or more likely IN IRELAND) it gets delayed by inordinate amounts of time.

Sure enjoy the (insert brand name) item you got "cheap" from China. If it does not electrocute you, falls to bits, does not work or sets the gaff on fire, let us know:rolleyes:

You should really look at the amount of lethal goods coming out of China.

    Google it.

An Post/Customs will keep the stuff if it does not meet EU safety regulations.

I'm still waiting on 5 or 6 items from China that I ordered in January and February.
Bizarrely I ordered two items on the 19/04/2017. They were posted on the 20th and I received them on Friday.

Is that "HKAJD..." barcode your tracking number? If so its not one of the traditional mail carriers.

Yes, it says it's the tracking number.
It was free postage but I think it might have delivered by courier as it was given to a neighbour.

A watch, Sent "Free" post but looks like via courier, value of $1.28 - and people wonder why customs check parcels?:D

I think it's a bulk mail thing to do with DHL. They probably consolidate lots of the small packets and send them out with DHL.

That would align with on time delivery.

that's not bizarre - that's what's happening. if your stuff is unlucky enough to be left in the unsorted pile you never know when AP will get around to dealing with it. the problem is that it's happening to a lot of items.

Just got something shipped on 6th Feb. 80 days later, long since refunded..
I wonder will my missing orders from last November and this January ever arrive?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭JabbaTheHut

Received an order today placed Feb 1st. Thats 91 days. Anyone who thinks things are back to normal are fooling themselves. It's still very hit-and-miss compared to the way things were before last October/November.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 61 ✭✭purple_rose

I've been waiting 3, 2 and a half and two months for separate orders.

It was the same before, IMO. Buying from aliexpress for years and 90-ish days waiting time is a norm rather than exception.

this is not my experience of buying from aliexpress. from october last year the service got worse and worse. it does seem to have picked up again recently though. i received 2 packages yesterday and 1 today and they were all shipped 4 to 6 weeks ago.
