That Sprinter will be probably converted to a Mini Bus for a Tour Company so the reg will make peoplelook twice at the reg and also the tour company. It most likely won't be used by a white van man!

It's taxed as private cc by the looks of it.

Really I think its a terribly dull looking car. Would it hurt Audi and VW to go hire some designers.

Someone got a 171 - xx - 13 and refused it. Dealer has to try re-register it now.

somebody who believes in that kind of crap doesn't deserve to be in charge of a car.

If it were me, I'd genuinely be concerned that it would affect the resale down the road. I'm not superstitious but other people are, especially when they can benefit from it.

It really does affect the price. I remember my sister getting a bargain at the time on a Micra due to the reg plates being 92-TN-13. Nobody would touch it.

My neighbour has an Audi Q3 with the reg 131RN13....and I'm always like what a pity!

Not sure what's worse the Rn part or the 13 part, lol

You're right. Errrrrr how's that then? Bought originally in 91 and not registered until 92. Was that still going on then?

I saw is twin before which was 92TN14 which also shows up as a 91. Can someone old like Colm MCM help us out on this one?

Prior to 93, registrations were handled by the local tax offices. It was common enough for end of year cars to be sold to people with "for reg" on them. They would wait until January to register them so they had a 91 car with a 92 plate for less money.

Not even end of year... it was common practice among my neighbour's back then to buy a car in August / September and spin around for 4 months with "For Reg"!

I can't remember the how's and whys of how they got away with it or how exactly it changed. I do remember in 1993 my Dad getting a new Escort and it had to be registered before leaving the garage.

171 KK reg Civic Type R in Waterford city this evening. White, parked under lights, looked very nice indeed. First of the new Type R I've seen in the flesh aswell.

Very good idea. I might borrow that idea and add a big TDI to it to promote how much of a weapon my VAG diesel is. Seriously fast.......seriously clean.

Your wrong about the clean bit them VWs are offal dirty yokes lots of poisons coming out of the dirty diesel engine and it ain,t just VW its ever diesel car. Seriously unless you people need a diesel car they should buy petrol or electric cars.
