They have Sai'li, we have no N°12, but the chances of rain and wind are 100% at 6PM!!
Sportsground Gods are on our side!

    Conway/Sweetnam out injured.
Guys, we have potential weak-links, but not that many in the end. If Stevenson/Robb/J.P Cooney/Dawai-in-the-backline are up to it, we can definitely win that one!!!
Optimistic Connachta was back for a minute :D

Why would we want wind and rain?

Because we simply can't play the new Connacht style without our starting midfield, above all Aki. Running  the ball against Ulster wasn't productive for the least.
And in the same time our pack is still impressive Cannon is stabilizing the lineout, Nepia/Roux are in great form, Heenan maybe back, Buckley to have at worse parity in scrums, Dawai to add extra power.
We could dominate a weakened Munster with 8-man-rugby in the rain (or 9, because of Marmion constant threat around the fringes :p )

So what you are saying is you want an arm wrestle against a team coached by a south African, that are playing a well drilled pack oriented gameplan, based on work rate and hard yards?

Am looking to get my hands on one clan stand ticket to the Munster game if at all possible, so someone can attend with 3 of us already going.
If there's any clan stand regulars who can't make it and could oblige, it would be much appreciated.

Against a 2nd string pack, balancing our own qualities up front with the inability of our 2nd string 10/12/13 channel to move the ball quickly enough/attack the line, yes, it should be the plan

McKeon not 8 though with Muldoon out?

Muldoon has played any single minute bar 8 this season. Did out Captain swear he'd have no rest until his 300th cap? :D

I don't think he is playing AIL with anyone but don't know for definite...

Matt Darcy would be a good call up, still playing AIL with Clontarf and can cover 10 in a pinch.

Is it possible that Nucifora may want Marmion at least benched for the Munster match?

If anyone's looking for a wild suggestion for emergency injury cover, how about Fionn Carr? And like 90% of backs who made it to pro level, I'm pretty sure he's played at 10 when he played schools...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,964 ✭✭✭connachta

So do you think Robb's "reintegration" means he may be available this Saturday???

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,523 ✭✭✭spurscormac

We should have a great squad to pick from by the time the 6 nations comes around.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,964 ✭✭✭connachta

Yes the others will be weakened too, but if we come in February with 15 points to overcome, it's way too late

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,803 ✭✭✭porterbelly

We will be getting emergency cover but it has to be Irish players

Meanwhile Munster have 8 NIQ's on their books

Good to see we're finally not tolerating any more of Munster's chicanery

Would he be a relation of the Charlestown Dawai-in-the-backlines?

From what I hear - Bealham good to go, as is Heenan with Dawai at 8. Dillane and Muldoon out. Robb comes in at 12 to an otherwise unchanged backline.

Oh hell that's f***** good news (assuming Dillane recovers for Toulouse)!

Thanks for the table. It's great. Small ask. Could we sort by expected return. To help fans understand when we ll look better.

Oh and I'd also add that Eoghan Masterson was taking a full part in training yesterday....I'd expect he'll play for the Eagles on the 14th & 21st while the Heineken cup matches are on with a view to making a full comeback after that.

If, and it's a big if with the current injury rates, we got all of our backrows fit, it would be tricky enough to pick 3 from SOB, McKeon, Heenan, Fox, Mul, Masterson, Dawai and Connolly. Until we know more about Dawai, I'd probably go with Mul / Heenan / Masterson.

Yeah probably the only accurate excuse for those wanting to keep going with "Ringshaw" pairing

So when Munster have a few injuries they're allowed sign a bunch of lads from the SH. We get John Andress who IIRC was forced to retire recently as his body is no longer up to the demands of pro rugby...
