slowly getting the wheels turning again. It’s some kick in the nuts waking at 5 again. Now I’ve to taper that back to 4am. Doing nothing heavy. Benching 60kg x 3 x 5. Officially out of the recovery period so I’ll start back at the big boy movements soon. Gym is going through a little renovation so I need to work around tools etc. could be worse

    bench press

    70kg x 5 x 3

    Pec machine

    Machine shrugs

    Machine incline press

About 8 months ago I nearly bought a combined shoulder press/bench press machine for 1800. Then saw the same one for 250 so I grabbed it. Seat can be adjusted to suit bench or shoulder or incline pressing. Also triples as a shrug machine which is perfect as I’m fond of them

    Deadlift

    80kg x 5 x 5

    100kg x 3

    Leg curls

First time deadlifting in over 2 months. Took it very easy. It was handing. Getting the hamstrings used to work again.

    Bench Press

    75kg x 5 x 1

I’m definitely undershooting the weight I could be lifting as I’m trying to ease back in to this. Shoulders feeling great and all reps were technically sound.

Lateral raises mixed in with my bench warmups, some neck exercises then shrugs and biceps

    Bench press

    70kg x 5 x 5

Happy with these and easier than expected.
I was supposed to re start squatting today but I’ve an upset tummy and had an awful nights sleep.

I’m chainsawing up and chopping about 8 large trees for the several weeks. Cardio sorted for now haha

    bench press 72.5kg x 5 x 3

Itching to go heavier but I won’t. These were nice and solid

    squat

    100kg x 3

Did plenty of warmup sets and to my surprise I got to 100, which I wasn’t expecting today.

    na I’m serious

See guys in my gym that neglect cardio totally

    Major mistake

Bulking up instead of being balanced

( did it for a few years when wayyyy younger- looked good but couldn’t last 20 m on the treadmill)

Now as an old guy I go on the machines for weight training- light weights , more reps.

But have lasted several hours at highest incline on treadmill

    But normally 70/90 m

    Then the bicycle- sauna

    Happy chappy

The absence of cardio in his log doesn't mean he's sedentary.

    Bench Press

    80kg x 5 x 1

Supposed to be squats today but my lower back had a sharp ache. I’m not risking injury.
80kg was nice. Heavy enough to challenge me but no struggles.
mixing in lateral raises with my bench warmups has added a nice amount of muscle to my shoulders. Nice definition and I’m not above a bit of vanity once in a while 😬

    Bench press

    75kg x 5 x 5

Challenging but no struggles. Back is still sore so no deadlifting or squatting

    Bench Press

    77.5kg x 5 x 3

Every day is bench day it seems, for now. These were fine tbh.

Ive been searching for a top grade cable crossover for the last few years that was affordable. Finally found one for 500. Considering lesser machines are asking for 1500+ I consider it a massive bargain. It’s a tad too big to fit into my squat rack so I’m in the middle of trying to cut and weld it in, hence no squatting. Floor is covered in steel, hence no deadlifting.

    Bench press

    80kg x 5 x 5

    This was pretty challenging

    Surprisingly easy tbh

    Bench Press

    87.5kg x 5 x 1

Considering this was my heaviest singles set of 5 in a long time and was very very rushed I’m happy enough with how it went

Fourth set my head wasn’t in it at all. Glad I was able to do the 5th set with minimal struggle
