Does the hole farm have to be tested or what's the story?

I'm in GLAS 1. I got 85% there last week, I don't have the nutrient plan done yet. I was worried as rules say you have to have it completed before end of 2016. Half thinking now of saying myself some cash and not bothering to do it at all.
Your better off to try and get it done. If they don't get ya for it this year they will next year. It's like the song, " one way or another I'm going get ya, I'll get ya I'll get ya"

I have the samples done. Just never paid for the plan yet. I will next week so I can get the final 15%. Did fellas that got it done get the full 100%?

I did the whole farm anyway. Advisor recommended 1 test for every 10 acres. Do the sampling myself so only worked out €12.70 a sample.

They came here with a map with the fields marked for sampling. Took 10 samples across the farm, 200 euro for the luxury.

Heard since that teagasc are 450 to do up the NMP on top of the samples so will try find someone who does the plans up cheaper, havent heard of anyone yet.

At €12.70 a sample versus what Signpost paid (€20) a saving of €7.30 a sample and pay for the packaging, postage, do out the map yourself, the time going around collecting the samples, inputting LPIS numbers on reception form and putting certain fields together to comply with the GLAS specification. I would have no difficulty knowing which is the best option.

I was booked in to have a soil sampling guy do mine at €25 a sample. the day he was meant to turn up he rang saying he got held up at another farm and would be with me the next time he was in the area, probably within 7 days. 3 weeks later (well into December) and no sign of him I decided to take the bull by the horns. Whole process from start to finish took less then 2 hours, the savings attached was far more then the average hourly rate I make from farming.

At €25 a soils sample that would make a difference. I was referring to soil samples at €20 each and the saving made would not justify taking them yourself.
I took my own and the saving I made was small and then take the risk that down the road if I have an inspection and the inspector takes issue with which fields were put together for sampling (soil type, cropping history).

Just to be sure I'm right. Soil sampling in Glas only applies to those with certain nutrient plans, It doesn't apply to all?

It applies to all farmers who are in GLAS

Lads, is there anybody out there who didn't get paid due to "digitalisation or I.T issues" , had their issues resolved and subsequently been paid ? i.e have the department managed to fix any "problem" cases yet ???

How did you even find out this was the problem??? - I have been ringing and ringing but cannot even get to talk to anyone there to identify why they have held up my own payment.

I must have rang about 50 times over the xmas and since new year. Got through once and the person was able to tell me what exactly was wrong, my Glas plot has to be manually retraced to get the plot to tie back in to the maps, their systems has a slight discrepancy in it. (I'm guessing that this is what's holding up a lot of people's money ) but only the I.T section could do it. asked when it would be fixed, she said they had to wait and get a batch together with the same issue and then they'll send it across the I.T section and they'd be fixed that way. I asked how long , but she didn't honestly know. She was very apologetic and I think embarrassed about it, but her hands were tied.

Thanks Green farmer. Sounds like this might be my problem as well as everything else was in order on my end. Looks like it will be a few months before anything is even cleared for payment.

In one snapshot you have also given more factual information than the IFA and Farmers Journal combined have been giving as to what is going really on - well done.

Same lark as has been we going on for the last few years with eligibility and also in Glas 1, people's total payment held up for months over .01 of a hectares' discrepancy in their systems.

It's a disgrace and the farm organizations should be up in arms about it. Payments should be made immediately, and the few square meters discrepancy sorted out in the remaining 15% payment

I not sure on these excuses that they giving.. They paid me and they were questioning the mea of one of my lipp plots only the week before and I didn't agree the mea either so my case I'd imagined would be one to be held but no!

Just reading posts about the nutrient management plan - is that a requirement for all entries in glas, or is it specific to some actions only? I just had a look through the specification document and there is no mention of it at all in there.

All GLAS participants have to do a Nutrient management plan regardless of what action are chosen - I imagine that it is mentioned in the Term and conditions rather that the specification.

Did people with the NMP get the full 100%? Does your planner upload it to your agfood account?

Won't get the remaining 15% payment till the NMP is submitted. No one got the full 100%. Can't submit the NMP till the Dept say so.

Strange one, no point me paying for it straight away so if we have to wait for the department to give the go ahead for when it can be submitted.

Speaking to planner and he has the plans finished waiting to press the button.
So I suppose if he has the work done he is entitled to be paid.

Hi folks. Anyone here that didn't receive your glas payment on Dec 30th . Have ye heard anything about when are we going to get it. I have tried ringing 101 different times and emailed . I got through last week and they said my details had to be verified , so she said they would do it that evening and to ring back the next day..... sure I can't get through..... it's driving me batty!

Apparently anyone who is receiving payment for fencing of waterways will be held up as they are "re-digitising" the rivers. Supposedly this is 75% of people, and of course (ahem) they have no idea when it will be finished.

But rest assured guys, they have their best men and women on the case.

Not true. I fenced over 1500m of waterways and got paid 85% on 29 December.
