Tams 11 budget for 2017 was 50 million, probably will be around this for 2018 could be higher depending on number of applications, theirs still 300 plus odd million available till 2020 under the Rural development scheme

Don't forget the CAP (sfp) budget.
    Available online per farmer.
For a fuller picture of payments.

There might be a bit of a job though breaking it down into various categories.

    Couple of questions...

What’s the optimum temp for the medicine cabinet?

Where would I find the current (2017/18) Irish budget/purse/envelope for dairy farms?
Is the budget capped or a function/percentage of GNP (not GDP!)?

    Thanks.
They appear to be hoping to plant about 1 million ha over the next 30 or so years to offset mainly dairy emissions at the expense of beef/sheep. €5 billion or so just for that

After being a serious clampdown on where forestry is allowed to be planted the past two years, applied here in early 2016 to plant 5 acres of ground that's not worth trying to reclaim it's only being planted this week, a lot of applications being rejected where their isn't going to be assess to harvest these woods on maturity due to poor access/road networks, not a hope a million acres of agricultural land will make its way into forestry

"The government’s national strategic plan for forestry in Ireland is to expand from 11% to 18% of the land area by 2046, in a bid to offset carbon emissions."

    It's in their plan anyway

Don't know if rebate is still going, but sure if it is glanbia are putting it on to take it off as far as I can see.

Cow aborted this morning always happens if testing this time of year, thought they went thru well tho had them in groups of 20 to 30 with little hassle. Was a nervous cow alright so perhaps she slipped or something without me seeing. Vaccinated for salmonella and lepto but will take to lab just in case

Colors are firmly nailed to the mast...

I wonder would a tiny percentage of that effort and expense be put into getting the sugar beet industry back in Ireland?

(Rhetorical question, so no need for posters to get apoplectic)

Environment, nitrates and cross compliance inspection this am.
Medicines, prescriptions and ear tags at the same time...

    Passed with flying colors.
Giving a talk this evening on Irish dairying.
Court date for pollution on Wednesday.

I find it astounding that designated land cannot be planted but Coilte land can be knocked for building windmills bounding the same lands without any issue. Farmers are made sign agreements that the land won't change from forestry use but the gov can change the use with no issue at all and have no concern about endangered species there. Amazing how the rules can be changed to suit the government....

    https://www.farmersjournal.ie/amp/glanbia-unveils-trading-bonus-scheme-338680

Have I read this correctly......the bonus can be worth up to 10% of value of the input purchases...?? You'll have to have the calculator out every time you go pricing...

10% is huge...however each time you pass a threshold, you'll have to assess whether it's worth pushing on to try and get to the next band...

In all fairness, with all the fixed price schemes, debated ration deals, bonuses linked to spend, coop top ups, I'm not sure how many would have the head space to be able to calculate their way through the haze....

Kerry Agri Fertiliser Prices 15/01/18 / The second price is what I priced it at on 20/01/17

    Urea €360 / €340
    CAN €270 / €230
    18-6-12 €360 / €335
    10-10-20 €390 / €375

    * Selenium which is apparently 42% Urea + Selenium €350

Good to see that the fertiliser companies will profit from 1 good year of milk prices...

What’s the reason for this? I was going to start recording again this year

I am sure costs have gone up. It's still not expensive for what it is. I am amazed how many farmers dont milk record at all

Are these pay upfront prices? Kerry were always dear on fert. Didn't even bother pricing them this year
