Spicy prawn tagliatelle tonight, love this one during the week as it takes about 15 mins to make.

(Edit: it’s actually a Jamie 15 minute meal if I remember right)

    Simple food but so tasty.

I defrosted one of the blocks of tofu, and it came out firm as you like. I didn't even bother pressing it, before making this orange ginger tofu with egg fried rice.

    545550.jpg

Definitely something I'll be making again!

    Looks great Shenshen!

I was watching a food video on tofu. The guy presenting it said firm tofu doesn't even need to be pressed. But he did blanch it before frying.

I'm definitely going to explore tofu a bit more. I used the one from Dunnes, which is a big (500g?) block for just €1.50.

Fancied a sausage casserole but one without tomatoes. Found this one which was lovely, very different.

Lamb chops, air frier chips and pea puree. Whilst I love lamb chops, there's rarely that much meat on them.

We had a bit of feta to use up, and hubby said "Is there such a thing as Greek Bruschetta?"
Well, why not? Toasted baguette with tomatoes, yellow pepper, spring onions, green and black olives, jalapenos, fresh basil and oregano and of course the feta. With a bit of balsamic and olive oil.
    I'd recommend it!

Savoury mince pies. Such a cheap treat, if a bit time consuming.

Burgers and chunky chips here earlier. One plain with ketchup. One with cheese and ketchup and mine with lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mayo. Burgers were homemade with salt and pepper and pan fried slowly. Chips from Supervalu and done in the airfryer.

I have no idea what that is Whitchie, but I agree anyway!

I'm going to guess it's because it isn't aloo Gobi looking like you would get from an Indian, and I'd agree, the ingredients didn't even have tomato.

More a coconut milk/vegetable stock based sauce.

It was still feckin delicious anyway. :D

Bacon double cheeseburgers with Monterey Jack and smoky chipotle bbq sauce and pickles for the housemates today.

They nabbed this photo as I was putting them together

Palak is another name for spinach in an indian dish. Aloo means potato, gobi means cauliflower.

    Mash, beans and breaded cod

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,353 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

The not-another-cooking-show method of making cacio e pepe. I do not recommend, as it wasn't great. Though perhaps I made a balls of it.
