Big jump in rainfall this February compared to normal.

Nice morning but cloudy now and cooled a good bit.

Nice stretch to the evening though.

I only recorded 140mm in February in south Wicklow
    Still way too much though

Also this tank was been emptied last week when I was there:

As the crow flys I'm quite close to that farmyard but thankfully probably about 20ft higher above sea level

Lovely dry sunny weather here today and yesterday. I notice the crows/jackdaws are gathering sticks/straw to build their nests. It's nice to hear the dickie birds singing loudly again at dawn and dusk.

Rotten showers here this evening, the wetting kind. Things look to be deteriorating again over the weekend.

Couldn't be true. if that was to happen, we would have had all our rainfall for the year in the first 3 months of it.

    117mm since last Saturday.
Another 40-50mm forecasted for tonight and tomorrow...

If they include the rain on Sunday and Monday last, then it’s the wettest winter ever recorded.
    Lovely.

Gotten cold here since morning, strong breeze now and occasional squally showers. It's not looking like it's going to be a nice evening.

I can confirm that Monday is indeed looking rotten.
Almost eight months of this crap, is there no end to it.

I know it will change sometime but the lads looking at those weather forecasting models have been predicting an improvement for a few weeks now which hasn't happened.
Those models are very unreliable once you look further than 5-7 days into the future.

Nice night with a lovely full moon. It's the first night in ages that I was able to walk up to the yard to check on things before heading to bed without having to wear a hat, coat and wellies.

Feckin hoor of a night tonight with the rain beating against the kitchen window. Thankfully the wet gear got a chance to dry out cause it'll be needed later
