I think it time we put out an APB for a Green DRAGON. Anyone local to the lad to give a friendly look in to make sure all is well??

I'm sure all is far from well. It must be a pretty big issue for him to just stop like he did.

Lads I did a trawl of the other forums that I know he was on and he hasn't logged in since the 16/01 on two and the 24/01 on another................ I think it is really time we sent out the scouts to ensure all is on an even keel.

Anyone local enough to help ease our concerns?

He mentioned on thread that his brother had health problems. Perhaps it's related to that.

    hello everybody IM BACK !!!!

can i just say a huge thank you to everyone for all their concerns over the past few months and i apologise sincerely for keeping you all in the dark since the end of January ,
we had to step away from the wee Massey due to unforeseen circumstances that really threw us off but i wont go into it here ,
the brother is doing very well health wise and is currently working on his own personal mk 2 escort project that's keeping him entertained .
as some of you may have noticed photo bucket has shafted me and blanked all my photos ,
the bastards are looking for a lump of money to pet them back up so for now i will be using a link to my google photo album that you will have to click on to see any progress ,

the wee tractor was put outside under cover since January and i pulled it back into the workshop on Saturday and started cleaning it down ready for its final coats of paint ,
some of the little bits that hadn't been painted the first time round had started to corrode slightly so i re-treated them and applied a liberal coat of primer to seal them up ready for paint .

Great to see you back man! Some things are just more important, no apologies needed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 895 ✭✭✭greendragon3

i know clicking on the link is a right pain in the arse ,
i spent all day yesterday trying to get a site that would be able to handle my thousands of photos and transfer them all over to it but i haven't managed as yet and my bastard internet is coal fired at the moment so that's not helping .

anyway we will have to make do with this for now until i can come up with some better solution ,
here are some pictures of what i was at today , i removed the cab and the wheels as they were only left sitting on to move her outside .

It's strange to say this about a person I've never met but I'm delighted to see you back. Best wishes to you and your brother.

Your threads are one of the few I get genuinely excited about viewing. Keep up the great work.

Don't know the issue with photobucket, but imgur is a great free hosting site. Also has links on each pic to embed into a forum.

PhotoBucket want $400 a year to remove their ransomware image and view previous and future hotlinked images

    Well that's a ball of ****e.
It's some unnatural pity though. I read a lot of different engineering/woodworking sites from around the world. Have a special interest in anything restoration related. And if you go back now you could find a great 20-page thread from 2005 about the restoration of an 80 year old lathe. And all the pics that someone went to the effort of including are now unavailable and thus the thread useless. So much info, completely locked down.
Wonder will they release all the material when they realise no one is gonna pay it?

evening all im overwhelmed with all the kind messages , thanks a million to everyone who bothers to keep an eye on our goings on , it means a lot lads .

had a short day today as i was helping the brother work on the engine for his mk 2 escort ,
i did get a wee bit done with the Massey at the same time ,
mostly trying to figure out these blasted " quick release " hydraulic fittings that we got for the back of the Massey in case the owner wants to put a log splitter on her or something in the future !!

anyway the problem im having is locating them in the actual " balls " using the cir clips that came with the set !!

i hope the photos throw some light on what im trying to explain and hopefully someone on here might have had some dealings with them in the past .

Are those not the same as fitted on 1080 or even a 2640? Have a set at home, I'll look at them after the weekend, see how they are set up.

thanks lads , its a bit of a late one this evening but i was getting the tractor ready for a bit of paint tomorrow ,

i had to make a bracket for the front grease nipple pipe as it would not reach due to the way the weight frame is mounted ,
it should work fine the way it is now though .

the other pipe is mounted behind the axle ( probably where both of them should be ) and it should also work fine there .
