Why has Mike left? Is it because he only has one show a week and the traveling from Sligo doesnt make it worthwhile?

I heard some of his show last Saturday, where he was giving away tickets to Boney M! Very funny when he suggested that there was probably one original member still in that group. Ouch!

So, as it stands now, the following presenters remain from its original lineup: Marty Miller, Greg Gaughren, Pat Courtenay and Pat James. In case you are wondering, Dee Woods was not part of the original lineup of presenters, but was a newsreader in its early days!

Although Kevin Branigan was always associated with the company which owned Radio Nova and was the main spokesperson and a Director, he was not always the CEO. I think he was the third in fact. David Tighe was the second I think. Who was the first - can anyone remember? From to time, Kevin has presented shows - usually overnight. I once heard David Tighe presenting and he was very impressive actually.

Radio Nova seems to have changed PDs a number of times. I believe Carol Dooley was the first - can someone confirm that? She is now to be heard practically every day on Sunshine 106.8!! I think Jeff O'Brien was PD immediately before Colm Hayes - again: confirm please. Who else has been PD of Radio Nova?

I am also curious to know which individuals in Nova call the shots.

Clearly Branners....he wont let the dj's play anything he doesnt like/understand...

Remember this scene....i always think of Nova...:)
Furthermore, you are to stick to playing normal modes of music... not wild stuff. Those we would find acceptable here would include Lawrence Welk... Jim Nabors, Mantovani. - Percy Faith. - Percy Faith. Good! Andy Williams, Pery Como and certain ballads by Mr Frank Sinatra. - Would Bob Dylan be out of line? - Way, way, way out of line.

Eh..we all know its Branners........i'm reminded of a famous 80's film when i think what Pat James's interview must have went like.....

    Really ?!?

Anyway, I think David was only NOVA CEO pre broadcast. Although CEO is a rather grand name for such a small company.

I just checked. David Tighe was the first CEO of Nova, so my recollection of events is a bit mixed up!! I think the confusion was due to the fact that there was much discussion on internet forums and in certain media sources about Nova for quite some time before it actually started broadcasting! It was announced in January 2010 that David was being appointed. He stepped down in late October 2010, so he did cross over briefly into its broadcasting period! It was announced at the time that he was being retained as a consultant and that Kevin Branigan was going to be "Acting" Chief Executive. That obviously became permanent!

Wonder will "Hybrid Theory" be a Classic Album at Midnight next week, in the wake of the awful news yesterday of Chester Bennington's passing?

Yesterday morning those two utter Muppets that present the breakfast show were extolling the virtues of Harry Styles. Just about the nadir for the sh1tness of that show.

Has anyone heard the advert about picking up dog poo? The jingle at the end sounds like something from kids' TV. It only seems to be played on Nova so far!

And so, the dumbing down continues!

I'd imagine they were talking about his role in the Dunkirk film, rather than his musical achievements.

Amongst other things, yes they were talking about Dunkirk. They mainly were saying how much they like him now and what a great guy he seems to be.
