Anyone going with Jak on wildcard, just be aware that Marshall played a blinder yesterday and most Hull forums say he'll start Saturday

I've seen people going with Jak/Pickford, which while tempting is madness.

Hopefully jak can get to 4.2 before the inevitable

I currently have them in my wildcard. But considering getting rid of shaw for a risky mcnair punt and then changing pickford for Heaton

FFFix seems to think not sadly. They're showing him as being >2 days away from a rise. :(

    Currently looking at the following:

    Heaton (Pickford)

Valencia - Holebas - Collins (Amat - Kinglsey)

Sanchez - Firminio - Antonio - Bolasie (Fletcher)

    Aguero - Ibra - Deeney

    Itb: £0.2m

Considering going with Lovren over Valencia (Liverpool have 4 of the next 6 at home, while United face Leicester, Liverpool & Chelsea). That would allow me go with Capoue over Fletcher as sub.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

fplstats has been the more accurate of the 2 thus far

Finally I think I'm beginning to settle on my WC team.

    Cech (Pickford)
    Shaw Baines Vertonghen (McAuley Amat)
    Sánchez Mané Towsend Capoue (Snodgrass)
    Lukaku Rashford Aguero

    Keepers:
    - Cech will play every game.
    - Pickford will be bench fodder (playing bench fodder hopefully til the 2nd WC).

    Defence:
    - Have my doubts over Shaw. And Utd defensively in general. Plus he is an injury doubt at the moment. Could be downgraded to someone like Holebas of Watford who have good fixtures for the next while, freeing up funds to invest elsewhere.
    - Baines is there for penalties + what look like favourable fixtures. Could be downgraded to Williams to save 0.5.
    - Is Vertonghen nailed on to start every game? Would Alderweireld be worth the extra 1.0 for his increased attacking potential?
    - McAuley. Pulisball. Nuff said.
    - Amat. 4.0 playing defender. Should never have to come off the bench.

    Midfield:
    - Sánchez. Has the potential to get some big scores in his next few games.
    - Townsend. Not entirely certain about keeping him. I think there's goals in Palaces upcoming fixtures, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Spacecraft involved in them. If I can free up the funds elsewhere I think it might be worth upgrading him to Antonio. But having had him from the start and losing 0.2 on him to date I'm reluctant to get rid just yet.
    - Mané. A Liverpool mid seems to be essential. He will probably share attacking returns with Firmino and Coutinho. Another that's been there from the start.
    - Capoue. Late to the party with this one. But better late than never. Just not too late I hope! :P
    - Snodgrass will rotate well with Capoue. Plus Mike Phelan seems to have them playing well.

    Attack:
    - Aguero. No explanation needed really.
    - Lukaku should be involved in most of Evertons goals. Favourable fixtures too.
    - Rashford I'm not too sure on. Will Mourinho give him enough game time? If he does, he will score well I think.

Any thoughts on the above would be most welcome. :)

Why Collins? West Ham have been shocking at the back and Collins could be dropped at any minute. Especially with Reid available again this week.

I'd be tempted to without a United defender if I was wildcarding. Liverpool defence is tempting but will almost certainly bring pain. I'd look at Baines/Coleman/Williams depending on budget.

Pretty much feel the same about him regarding the Price Fall. Ended up getting rid of him (so far) but would be the one I would down grade to if needing money.

Think there is a clear trend towards people going with either High or Low priced Midfield/Forwards and those such as Townsend/Bolassie are being forgotten about

I'd be a bit doubtful about Pool defence too. No clean sheets so far and I wouldn't be too confident of a lot of them going forward.

Heaton has a few tough fixtures in the next 5 as well. Clean sheets could be few and far between. Lots of save points though you'd imagine.

Bolasie is a tough one alright. Going for him over Lukaku could go a long way to enabling Rashford to be upgraded to Ibra.

Tbh, it's mainly fixture based, which I know is a terrible idea.

I could go with Lovren + Williams instead of Valencia + Collins. That seems like a better idea alright.

I have a feeling we will see classic 1-0 Jose over the next few weeks

I bought Collins based on fixtures
    Points so far
    0
    0
And damn lucky to even get zero
Will be getting rid next week
West ham were not overly solid second half of last season when I had Adrian but they are POISON at back this year
    Avoid

I would be reluctant to buy Capoue now (as a 5th mid) if going with Deeney. Do you bench Bolasie for Watford's decent fixtures?
That said I'm considering Deeney for Diomande (don't have Capoue) with my second FT and playing AOA this week.

Liverpool played 4 of their first 5 away from home, and have played ARS, SPU, LEI & CHE, all teams capable of scoring. 3 of their next 4 (and 4 of their next 6) is at home, against weaker (on paper) teams. I can see some clean sheets happening.

Heaton I've very uncertain about! Could easily change.

I suppose it comes down to personal experience regarding Pool defenders. Been stung more than once over the past couple of seasons. I tend to give them a wide berth these days. But as you say they could just as easily go on a good run.

    So have I tbf!

I think the fact that they have a defender for under £5.0m, coupled with the hunch that, over the next 4 weeks, they have a decent chance of a few cleanies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,747 ✭✭✭Ziegler1988

I'm likely to go with Lovren. I figure it's pretty low risk at 4.9m; I won't feel obliged to start him during their tough fixtures like ManU and I think those fixtures coupled with their defensive stats make him worth the 0.4m over the likes of Evans, Francis, Robertson. I'm planning to still go cheap on defence (5.0m or less) since cleanies are in short supply. Will be happy to upgrade to ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal if they go on a run and I don't feel as constrained to invest in my attack.

Lads if you're looking at a Liverpool def i'd be more in-Clyne-d to look at Clyne. Has been getting forward alot and his link up play with Mane in particular has been impressive. More expensive than Lovren but worth it for added attacking potential

Any love for Bellerin? Really nice run after this week. Thinking if putting him in my wc

Little too expensive for me, would prefer Kosc or Monreal

Anyone help out. Can't decide between:

    A: Baines and Lovren

    Or

    B: Williams and Vertongen

Liverpool have the better fixtures but Spurs have been better defensively so far.
