Depends on what games you want a comparison of. I might not have them.

F*ck it, made a massive mistake. Was running hugely outdated drivers, I only copped when I saw Jayo's scores.

(in terms of how out of date - I was using 353.82, latest is 368.81)

    Dx11 new score: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13687103?

That's a boost of ~1500. And that brings it to just about the exact same score as ShadowHearth's 2500 + 1060 combo.

    Dx12: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13687311?

    Boost of 670

He is using a Z170 motherboard with a old bios to unlock the blck over clocking of the CPU. He also has his GPU over clocked at higher frequencies than you.

I've my i5 6400 @4.1Ghz and my GPU is 1400Mhz + GDDR5@7225Mhz. It's actually boosting to 1463Mhz under load. It's the Asus Strix 970 too, just done using GPU TweakII.

Like ^himself says, I'm using an Asrock Z170 with the SKYOC bios to enable overclocking on the non-k cpu.

no waggling here, but just for giggles i ran firecrest dx11 test on my new build. giggles bit it currently has a 5670 with 512mb of memory in it, an old card i am using until my new card arrives. a whopping score of 906 :)

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13697925

only posting it as sitting here waiting on my new 1070 to arrive today, so will run it again once it gets here, suspecting there may be a bit of an increase..:)

Absolutely crushed that Office PC from 2013. Is that old graphics card actually better than the integrated graphics on the 6500?

it probably isn't, that thought never occured to me when i was building so i jsut stuck it in. something i read a week ago made me wonder was that the case, but i said i'd wait until the new card came to pull apart.

played a bit of division on it, even with everything turned down it's stuttering along. funny thing is the card is meant to be a 5770, 1 gig of ram, says so on the sticker, and my order confirmation from years ago says so. but shows up in the system as a 5670 with 512mb. think i was done and never realised it. it was used in my htpc for a few years so neer noticed

really can't wait to get the new card, due for delivery between 1 and 2 today according to dpd.

Now thats the benchmarks i love to see. :)

I woke up today and Oced my cpu to 4.1ghz after sorting out my ram issue and that slight overclock on my 1060. I got this result:

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13699776?

    Its actually really interesting.

Our CPU scores are very similar. I think if I would do proper overclock and try get usual 4.5ghz I would match your cpu. Pretty damn good for old 2500k!
In gpu 1060 is getting slightly better score, but not by much. I guess with time and drivers 1060 will go a bit more ahead.

If what, by the looks of it old 2500k and pcie 2.0 is still not a bottleneck for 1060.

ShadowHearth, will you do a benchmark of the new timespy dx12 with the 1060 as I would like to see what score you get.

I am still on win 7 m8. I think dx12 is only for new windows?
I don't have spy one, isthat the one you pay?

I have the first and the last of those.I don't play either of them anymore but If I have time I'll give it a bash.

Crysis maxed out only getting to mid 30's at 4k. The Division a bit higher, early 40's. Geforce experience optimal settings and they both hit 60 no issue and still look every bit as good to my eyes.

Why are you still using a soon to be legacy OS?
I would recommend the upgrade to Win 10.

Pretty sure once you use the key to upgrade nothing can happen to it.

Crytek(makers) were really always engine makers who set their sights on ****ting all over current gen cards. I don't think they ever gave a crap about sales. I'm not surprised a 3 year old game from them still creates problems at 4k.

CPU Score is holding me back, its next on the list for an upgrade, probably next year some time.

Still dialing in an overclock but this result is with gpu +103 core and +155 memory, tops out about 76C in the benchmark. CPU is @ 4.3Ghz

Will update with DX12 scores at a later date

    DX11: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9493546

    Adding DX12

Thanks for that. Getting around the same with a 980ti. but hitting the division mid thirties.

    Frame rates on a 1080 @ 3440 x 1440:

    Doom - 100FPS+
    Warhammer Total war - 40-50FPS
    Fallout 4 - 75 FPS ish - haven't tested this much.

Cooling is everything on these cards, overclocks don't matter much it seems. I can put up to 150mhz on my card but all that happens is it gets hotter faster and throttles the boost quicker. if I put 50mhz on it it ends up hovering at 75c and boost of 2012ish. If I go higher it will boost higher but once it hits the mid 70s in temps the boost drops back to the same level as with 50Mhz on it.

So those Palit, Gainward, Inno cards with massive coolers may well do the better job of holding higher boosts.

Thats why i was asking for your temps the other day. Ive found my card will happily OC with +100 core and +200 memory with a power limit of 95%,boost will then hoover around 2000Mhz-2050Mhz. Also using a a custom fan profile to keep the card reasonably cool, the zotac stock one was terrible and the card shot straight to 82C with no OC,with the custom profile i can keep it to about 77C but with the OC.

I found a memory OC actually made the card worse! Keeping them at mid 70's seems to be the key, anything higher and they throttle. I haven't touched power limits or fan profiles yet either.

Yeah mid 70's would be ideal,im finding with the zotac that the fans become audible around 75% so once the cards hits 70C they ramp up to that as its the highest i really want them going as i dont want the rig to be loud, that keeps the card j in the 70's (78C max) with the games that push it hardest like Witcher and Crysis 3.
