Managed to beat the Timespy Premium Gaming PC(2023) with lower spec hardware. 4090 and 7950X3D

I managed to get a better graphic score but CPU score was down.

This section of the site is dead these days. Anyway managed a new CPU score last night. That guy beat me by few points.

His GPU score is far better as he soldered on a EVC to increase the power limit. I'm on stock air cooler so wouldn't work for me.

Out of interest, what sort of overclock settings have you? Just got a tuf oc xtx and max graphics score I can get is around 34k

I flashed the Aqua extreme 550W bios. That's the highest boosting bios to go beyond that you have to solder on a EVC to get higher power limits beyond 550W which is what all the high scores on 3dMark do.

34-35k in about right for stock cards.

That's at 1090mv, 3050 core, 2674 mem, and 15% power which so far is my most stable, 1050mv was running but not stable enough imo

Worth flashing (even possible easily) for gaming performance or is it really just for benchmark runs

Just for benchmarks. I'm still on air so on the 550w bios I have to go into the negative for the power limit. Hot spot goes through the roof if I don't go negative. It's for water cooled cards the 550w bios.

I have to run 1130mV in games to be stable but I can go lower for TimeSpy. Some peoples cards can go lower voltage in games but not mine.

Mind you I have the Red Devil 7900 XTX and flashed the Liquid Devil not long after I got the card and that made me boost higher and was the perfect amount regarding boosting and keeping temps under control. As I said the 550W is too much for air cooled cards.

RX 9070 XT (Sapphire Pure) - undervolt + overclock:

    • -90mV voltage offset
    • 2700MHz VRAM
    • -20% power limit

25,071 Time Spy (48.4% faster than my RTX 3080)

I'm finding the 9070xt nitro+ overclocking odd, I can undervolt to -150mv or even more and it will run benchmarks stable but I need to drop it to -30mv to be stable for actual games, maybe driver maturity will help with actual game overclocking
