A Time Spy result I just got.

    3700X & 5700 XT both @ stock.

Realized the memory had defaulted back to 2133MHz, had to reset it in the BIOS to get it back to 3200MHz.

    Here's a more true result.

Good scores z0ot. Why did you memory reset itself? Mine hasn't done that once since I got my system.

  • Registered Users Posts: 740 ✭✭✭z0oT

It's likely BIOS related - the one I'm using is the F6a, it was the 1st ABBA bios that's since been removed from Gigabyte's website.

I'm kind of lazy to update it though, I'll probably just hang on until the next non-beta version is up on Gigabyte's website.

I was getting 70-100fps in Gears 5 with all the settings up to the max on 1440p all week so I never thought to check the memory.

Gears 5 has seriously good optimization for PC.

I put it on locked 60fps gameplay / 30fps cutscenes.

New Score with a 3700X clocked at 4.39GHz and Rx 5700 XT @ 2178MHz on core and 1840MHz on memory

Graphics score is 9988, hopefully some day I break the 10000, don't ask how I can do that with a reference design card.

    Timespy score: 10177

    https://www.3dmark.com/spy/8757520

Well above in bold. I manged to break 10000 graphics score.

just put the new build together, 2070 super, 3700x, 16gig of 3200 ram

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/40231747?

10056 on timespy, the cpu came in at 9159 , gpu at 10234. that's running at stock though so room to improve that, need to check what the ram is running at as well, this was literally 20 mins after first boot .

:) i was looking in the local software itself for the memory speed and it didn't list it, forgot the web link gave it.

right, need to get my memory speed up!!

So I installed my new RTX 2060 and ran Time Spy again tonight and saw quite a jump compared to the 1060.

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/33264222?

    1060 = 4499
    2060 = 7550

That is nearly a 68% increase in scores and way more than I expected.

I was bored this evening and said I'd play around with MSI Afterburner for a little bit. Anyway I upped Power Limit to 110, Temp Limit to 85, Core Clock to +115 and Memory Clock to +1013 and ran Time Spy again. New score of 8061 compared to my original run of 7550.

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/41283861?

As I said that's my first time using Afterburner so not sure if the above are pushing it to far but I'd no crashes or anything so I'd guess it's ok?

Edit: max GPU temp was 68° and max CPU temp was 53°.

Well AMD fine wine strikes again. I was browsing a different site online and seen a high 5700 XT score so I decided to run a few benchmarks since I hadn't done for a few months.

    Timespy score: 10652
    Graphics score: 10528

Ran this for the first time

    TimeSpy Score: 8337

    Details here

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

I'm currently 11th in the world for graphics score in Timespy for the 5700 XT single card. Not bad.

    https://www.3dmark.com/newsearch#advanced?test=spy%20P&cpuId=&gpuId=1285&gpuCount=1&deviceType=ALL&memoryChannels=0&country=&scoreType=graphicsScore&hofMode=false&showInvalidResults=false

That's with a reference model also. That top score could be LN2 as it's a bit high.

You're scoring a little higher than me. 120 points or so.

I guess you have better airflow and are ramping up a bit higher than me on average since the card auto overclocks itself on the fly depending on temps.

    What was you 1070 score?

Never did a benchmark before to be honest, never been of interest :D

Fixed my RAM timings (now 3600 @ 16-19-19-39)
    Score improved to 10'183

Well decided to run a bench mark this evening. Got the idea from another forum as I haven't ran one in quite some time. Got the score below first try. Pushed memory up higher for second and it crashed so called it a day. Not a bad graphics score for a first run. Best score yet but my CPU score is down from a previous run.

    New score: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/12956318

Old score better CPU score: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/9850681

I had problems with CPU speed dropping between tests a year apart and I decided (without much evidence to be fair) that it was due to the updates related to Meltdown and Spectre. I had to push my overclock higher to get back to the same level.

Edit: That's what you get for posting without reading - I see you have a Ryzen processor so none of what I wrote is relevant!

I ran a benchmark this evening. Currently 15th in the world graphics score for a single 5700 XT. I was so close from 11,000 overall score.

Not 3DMark but I finally fixed my CPU overclock.

Yeah his temps are pretty good, the average clock is nice too. Keeping them cool is the key

Out of interest, were you setting any sort of custom fan profile for benching?

Not yet. Only got this thing delivered today. I hope I will have some time over the weekend to mess around with it.

Should help with temps a bit if ye can find the sweet spot.

Either misky is on water or he has the fans cranked to get those temps id imagine. If not I want one of whatever card he bought.

57C at 2100+ on the core, very nice indeed
