    First real draft.

    Will no doubt change loads.

    First go at this:

    H6fhq7P.png

My first attempt included Zlatan, but I really felt that I was weakening the team with him and Aguero.

A few areas I'm not 100% settled on here - not sold on Negredo, and my usual approach is three big hitters so it feels strange to abandon that.

My first draft had all 4.0/4.5 defenders, but it just looked really weak. I might revert to at least one in order to do Townsend -> Siggy.

Are people not wary about going for Fabregas before we know how Conte sets the team up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 674 ✭✭✭carnie

ffs I planned on not doing any fantasy football today to give my head a break and yet here I am. Feck it anyway

Right this is my 3rd draft. I still have 1m in the bank so I could upgrade Payet or Mhki to Hazard but I could also bring in a premium back.

I am.. Hazard seems to be the only midfielder locked in at the moment for Chelsea. Also like most fantasy footballers I will also keep an eye on Nolito. He may be on the WC list in a couple of week.

He's not a cert for me, but very attractive at 7.5 so I'm leaving him in for the moment. Will be interesting to see some pre-season line ups.

Dier got points last year as he was classified as a defender. He's a mid in the game this year and won't chip in with many goals or assists. I'd recommend changing or upgrading him to someone else.

I get ya. I just brought him in instead of Gradel. See this is why I needed a break today!!

Would appreciate opinions of my team please

GK - Foster a viable option under Pulis (is Foster a guaranteed starter ahead of Myhill?) but I'd strengthen your other GK to a 4.5 so you can rotate the two.

DEF - I'd consider downgrading Koscielny to Gabriel for a +1.0M and strengthen the rest of your defence. Wilson and Wasilewski aren't expected to start when there are great 4.5 million options available. Palace were unpredictable with their CS's last season so bringing in Souare who doesn't get goals, assists, or bonus points is something to stay away from.

MID - Solid midfield. All are good options. If Leko gets gametime he could be amazing value. Probably won't though. Is Bojan a 100% starter?

FD - Great attack. Zlatan is going to have plenty of chances with Mkhitaryan in the team and he's the go to man, so I expect he'll get big points. However he'll miss the odd game to Rashford and you should expect him to come off as a substitute over the season. Aguero is Aguero. Shane Long is a guaranteed striker but he played predominately out on the wing all last season and I expect Austin to lead the line. He should still bring in good points IMO.

Overall nice team just needs some tweaking!

What are Good 4.5 keeper and Defender options, Bojan was down as a striker last season , as a midfielder I think he could be massive value

You can expect Burnley to be solid defensively (and the season before last had a good home record CS-wise) under Dyche. Heaton at 4.5 rotates well with West Brom because they have adjacent home & away fixtures to start off with. He's just one option though.

Look back over the thread you'll see plenty of decent 4.5 options and you can decide which you feel is best for your team.

As for Bojan, he's not really prolific enough. Could still have a great season but hasn't looked like going on a hot streak of several weeks in the past which is essential when picking up points in this game. Also why picking a team at the start and knowing who'll perform well is hard. :o

Can anyone give me advise to improve this team .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,206 ✭✭✭Lucas Hood

Get rid of Kouyate first of all. I think Dann might be overpriced this year too but that might be just me.

Downgrade at least one of the defenders maybe
Downgrade McLean to 4.5 upgrade kouyate with the extra money

I try not to do bench fodder . 4 mill not used is 4 mill wasted .

I would have to find 1-1.5 Mil to upgrade to either Noble or Antonio and I don't think they are any better .

    Any advice

Wholesale changes needed imo! Giroud is supposedly not going to play the opening fixture according to twitter, Sako I wouldn't rate at all. Midfield looks very weak too, I think you should downgrade some defenders and try and bolster a couple of the midfield slots, KDB, Payet, Mahrez, Hazard etc I'd be looking to get one of them in.

I didn't want to be too harsh but you have gone first so I will
Tear it up and start again is my advice too ! Ivan dislocated his shoulder so won't start season

No problem with been harsh especially if there is good advice with it

I had Fab so that is why I was not going with Hazard but getting Payet De Bruyne is solid

So here's my first draft with starting line-up for GW1 above. Feel free to critque!

    My reasoning's:

    GK:
    • Want Heaton & Foster to rotate as they have different home fixtures to start, and both are good money with the way their manager sets up. Does anyone know if Myhill will start ahead of Foster?

    DF:
    • Shaw (5.5) - Should do well but he may take a while to get back into the swing of things. United have nice opening fixtures.
    • Terry (5.5) - Chelsea cover for 5.5 seems good for a Conte team.
    • Robertson (4.5) - Likes to get forward. Hull could be crap though so might replace before deadline.
    • Oxford (4.5) - Should start with Cresswell out unless they sign a player. Likes to get forward as a wing back so represents good value for me.
    • Fernandez (4.5) - Swansea are usually defensively sound at home.

    MD:
    • Hazard (10.0) - The jump of 2.5M from Hazard to Fab is huge but I'm edging towards Hazard because I expect him to fly out of the blocks. Chelsea have good opening fixtures and he's captain material.
    • Mkhitaryan (9.5) - Always been a huge fan of him. Should be a points machine. That of course means I can't get Zlatan and with this guy feeding him it's a worry.
    • Ayew (7.5) - Had it on Siggy but went with Ayew. Has a pre-season behind him, scored twice if I'm correct already, and could potentially start up front for them.
    • Tadic (7.5) - Was amazing at the end of last year. Taking a punt on him to start well against Watford at home.
    • Bolasie (6.0) - Could go with him or else Fischer for Middlesbrough for .5 less. Rumours that he could be playing as the number 10 this year. 50/50 on him.

    FWD
    • Aguero (13.0) - Should have a fine year again.
    • Gray (6.5) - Hearing big things about him. Swansea aren't great on the road either so nice opening fixture.
    • Wilson (6.5) - Benched for the first but should be regular enough after that. Here's hoping he can rediscover last seasons form. See a lot of goals in him.

    Opinions welcome!

    GK:
    Pickford (4.5m) & Courtois (5.5m)
    DEF:
    Stones (5m) Shaw (5.5m) Terry (5.5m) Kone (4.5m) Smith (4m)
    MID:
    Mhik (9.5m) KDB (10.5m) Ozil if fit (9.5m) Redmond (6m) Feghouli (5.5m)
    FWD:
    Costa (9.5m) Lukaku (9m) Negredo (6.5m)

I like my defence - especially if stones goes to citeh. Ozil is a doubt for first few so will probably swap out for Mahrez/Payet.

    Thoughts?

Also reported tonight that if stones goes to city koeman wants kone to replace him !!!
Keeping a close eye on that one !
Would not go next door near Costa !
Or lukaku but I can see more sense in him than Costa
Get aguero. Do what you need to do. He should be In every team when fit .
People can try and reason it all they want he WILL destroy your rank on any given week

Looking again I also see you have negredo. Don't like any of the strikers . Who is your captain .........

Would be very nice - have a good feeling this year about costa under conte but im 50/50 tbh. First draft of many, KDB would be capt

FFS so indecisive, sooner it starts the better.

    New draft:
    Smith -> Taylor
    Ozil -> Bolasie
    Costa -> Aguero
    Negredo -> Rhodes

Robertson is attacking but the problem is the team he plays for. Can't see Hull keeping too many clean sheets. Oxford is a risk, Bilic could sign someone before the season starts.

I like the midfield picks. Bolasie is a bit of a risk but if he is a regular starter, he should weigh in with good point scores.

The attack is good too. Is your plan to rotate Gray, Wilson and Bolasie for the first few weeks?
